This Two-Handed Medieval Saber combines the defensive and offensive properties of the longsword hilt with the sheer cutting potential of a large saber blade; an agile and dangerous blade, it could maneuver with the speed and responsiveness typical of a longsword, yet strike with the shearing efficiency of a sweeping, single-edged saber blade. Swords of this type could be found Central Europe in the 16th Century and the swordsmanship concerning their use likely had longsword techniques as a foundation.
This blade of this two-handed saber is crafted from 1075 high carbon steel. The guard and pommel are stainless steel and the wooden grip is overlaid in tightly-fitted, stitched black leather. The tang is peened into the hilt for a solidly built, overall construction. The sword comes with a leather scabbard complete with button-on hangers and a basic leather belt.

I love the look of this sword. Kinda like a long sword, messer hybrid. Pommel is maybe a bit too big though.

The pommel looks like a good counterweight as well as extra grip length. The specs say that the point of balance is 4 3/8" forward of the hilt, so I'd say it's probably well-balanced for a sword of that length/weight. I will order this and let you know

I loved this sword. Cons- crossguard, scabbard. Still love this sword I just sold mine with shimmed crossguard on ebay last month. I miss it so much. A true bastard(hand and a half-2 handed) saber/kriegsmesser/war falchion Best sub 300 dollar cutting sword there is in my opinion. Blade is incredible for the price. Beautiful finish, consistent, flat, nice mirror polish. Amazing blade for 250. edges are some of the best/sharpest factory edges I've seen . point of balance at about 3-3 1/2 inches Cm looks like it's got this full convex grind with almost no secondary bevel. I miss this sword. One of my most favorite backyard cutters of all time. There are cons tthough Crossguard came loose after cutting a couple water bottles. The blade isnt fitted into crossguard to well and it had small gaps around almost entire crossguard. It loosened up within first 2 weeks owning it. I just shimmed the crossguard eith brass shimstock. Put brass shims all the way around crossguard and the sword and crossguard are both solid as can be now. No wiggle in crossguard qnd it's most certainly tougher than any brand new rk10 that you will buy anywhere. Even though it has that crossguard problem, it's easily fixable with brass shimstock from amazon. And even with the shitty flimsy,fragile and dangerous scabbard I still rk euro I highly reccomend rk euro 10 war falchion

Mine came in the mail last week. For the money, I had expected something to be off about the fit. Thank you for sharing a simple and effective fix. I was going to try shimming with lead but brass makes way more sense now lol.

@@lesterventure6248 trust me, brass shimstock from amazon is perfect . It works so good. It almost looks like a little weld or solder when your done. It might as well be with how strong it is. It cuts easy with a pair of scissors, or wire cutters brass has this sticky characteristic to it, and expansion and contraction from temperature change or humidity etc should never be a problem. Just make sure you beat a decent amount in there. I cut little triangles, point triangle downward and beat screwdriver on fthe lat wider side of triangle. I will combine multiple pieces for one spot sometimes. Just make sure u dont put too little. I fill almost all small gaps with brass shimstock now. And the results are a stronger sword than it was when I bought it. Once u shim a crossguard with brass, I guarantee that crossguard is stronger than any other crossguard on a brand new version of the same sword. It's like an upgrade really. And for me its pretty permanent, when u put brass in, I don't want it coming out ever. I also beat the shim practically all the way around crossguard to guarantee its hold. I've done this with like 6 swords now and sold most of them and those people have reported superb durability. I guarantee my shimmed crossguards last longer than any brand new crossguard on an rk euro Good choice though man, I love rk euro, especially the rk euro 10. Amazing cutter. Probably absolute best in the price range

Just for clarification this is not a messer or a kreigmesser it’s not even a hybrid. If anything it’s somewhere between a Swiss saber and a katana though the only thing reminiscent of a katana is the blade tip.

For the money, it's not exactly fair to expect perfection. Mine came in the mail last week and have to say the blade is tempered well. I gave it a near 90 degree flex over my knee on both sides and it didn't take a warp neither time. The edge isn't optimal for cut testing out of the box (understandable) but good geometry to work by is already ground in. 9/10 for my first impression.

This is a good way to create a serious issue within the blade... i wouldnt recommend to do that too often!

@@grunztiertransmutator770 Better to make sure it has flex day 1, rather it fail out the gate to send back for a replacement then have it in a closet 4 years and have it fail 1st time using it. IDK about bending it 90 degrees like homeboy but its always good to give it a tough guy test out the box because if its going to fail its better to have it fail when you can send it back.

I have this, great bang for the buck, This has a feel of a sword double its price. The scabbard sheath thing is almost worthless but the sword is surprisingly good for the modest price.

Just saw this blade and my first thought was “they put a katana blade on a long sword handle and it looks bad ass”, also it reminds me of Heie’s sword from YUYU Hakusho. I definitely plan on purchasing this one, hopefully soon!

I fell in love with sword at 1st sight. I must have missed this one in my research of Kultofathena medieval swords. I love the Albion Beserkr and the Albion Kriegsmesser, but i don't wanna spend $1500. This looks like the best option under $400. I wonder how it compares to $400 Chinese sabers?

Its a shame there's only two or three videos of this thing, this is by far the most in depth look at it but still not as in depth as I'd like, I was still able to spot the weird step between the handle and pommel, the gap between the guard and blade aswell as the gap between the handle and guard though so I suppose it served its purpose, also if you only have one mat for these videos I suggest you stick to more rudimentary 45 degree cuts that people are used to so we can more accurately gauge the cutting performance rather than trying to guess how well it performs through different techniques we (or you based on what you said) aren't so familiar with, atleast for the very first cut, was kinda frustrating tbh.

I'll make a video of mine for you. Going on a gunless coyote hunt and may chose to bring this sword. If I do you will see me highlander the shit out some dog snatching predators in the canon by my house. I did my research and as long as I dont use traps poison or discharge a fire arm in city limits its legal to kill coyotes any way you want as many as you want year round where I live. I got a few swords I plan to try but Im basically going to march into a coyote pack and start taking heads while filming.
