These sessions are true eye openers from the psychological & tactical perspective. I do have active duty training from back in the day, but the very nature of our environment & mental awareness has changed. As I teach my son how to use his first shotgun & PA-15 I will have him watch these. So it's not just the old-man telling him simply from my experiences. Your commentary about martial-arts resonated; we civilians who maintain our 2nd Amendment for it's intended purpose need to understand everything that you are teaching and develop a solid foundation of discipline. I honor your service, love for what you do; teaching us to be exact and precise.

The gun enthusiast in me learning how you guys work through problems or the tactics used in order to set yourself up for success is extremely interesting to me. Being an average person chances of me needing to use any of this info is very slim but like they say "Knowledge is power"... So making up drills or just trying to be proficient with my firearms and applying parts of what you're talking about to things I could actually face in my life like a home invasion or self defense situation is extremely valuable. Good stuff brother and thanks for all you do!!!

It is great to learn modern techniques and why it works better than conventional teachings.
@vincec.2023 жыл бұрын
@David B Modern tactics are simply variations on what has always been true. There's multiple tactics that work...sometimes. There's no tactic that works...all the time. That's why it's imperative to learn how to adapt. The threat might be the same a lot of the times, but the individuals actively posing it are always different. There's limitless components that are environmental, psychological, and technical, and they all require a countermeasure to overcome it. "Modern", or newly adapted tactics are great and vital, but the basics and the universal truths should be practiced with the same importance.
@DanielBoone3373 жыл бұрын
@@vincec.202 isn't that how everything considered modern comes about??? If it was tried and true it would just be the way and even that would've been considered modern at some point. Everything has to start somewhere's brother...

Love the psychology behind the training style. Stern and serious but not over arrogant, which I can imagine is hard for an extremely knowledgeable dude who is passionate about his lessons saving lives. Hard to not get arrogant or angry when teaching something you know well, and you know is important. Love this guy. Even the concept behind the training and the persona of accepting that older martial arts and weaponry were also about minimizing movements and maximizing immediate effects. Put the fucker in the dirt and tap as you move past and push to the next threat. Effective and controlled movements lead to well placed first second and third shots. They taught us in advanced pistol courses fun stuff when falling from a chair and engaging targets as you went down. Their argument was be the first to fire, not be the first on target, that was wrong. First on target transitions to first to make a lethal hit. Not firing once you see feet until you're sights are center mass. And I love feet. Hands to target for quick target engagement and slight adjustments from there. No more following and tracking the sight from low ready and trying to find it. No no no, train for your body's natural movements to get your sights in front of your eyes. I like doing dry runs and testing with my eyes closed, then opening to see where I'm lined up. Stupid but let's me know how far my natural movements are from aligning with my natural eye alignment to sights. After that, your eyes guide your hands to a natural point of aim more efficiently when open. I SUCK with a pistol, mainly because of recoil management which I say to avoid that my hands suck. But I'm trying to get my draws to where I spend less time acquiring first shot alignment so follow up aren't as necessary, at least while I'm trying to learn my best grip. I love this stuff.
