Ronald Kray and Reginald Kray were identical twin brothers, gangsters and convicted criminals. They were the foremost perpetrators of organised crime in the East End of London, England, from the late 1950s to 1967
Infamous villains the likes of Machine gun Kelly , Pretty bow Floyd, and Baby face Nelson show how hard , mean and desperate you have to be to earn the title of Public enemy.

The Krays were the ultimate embodiment of how not to be in life. Every nightclub they owned failed. They were vain about their appearance and were enamoured about the image they portrayed. They loved the lime light which ultimately proved their downfall. The Krays spent most of their lives banged up. Its sad that a small minority of people want to hero worship them .

There is such a huge mythology that surrounds the krays in reality they were not that big of a gang and despite common belief they did not rule London

The were similar in this respect to John gotti in the US, you can’t be a gangster and be on the TV and in the public eye. Anyone that is or was was doomed to fail. They courted publicity then f***** it all up. The Richardsons were a lot more secretive and more successful , still committing crime and murder so not to be admired , but the best gangsters will be under the radar . If you have hardly heard of them they were more successful. It’s called the underworld for a reason

Loopy Luciano was as other gangsters of the underworld. So any rise could only be with in the underworld. Therefore if the rise was compared to a pancake it rose to no higher than sub normal. So not even as high as the surface of a flat pancake of the above world. It is important for some to know or remameber than any supposed criminal rise is in fact desent. So the higher a supposed criminal climbs with in the Organised Crime Syndicates is in fact a lower position. You could say one step up for them is equivilent to one step down in the real world.

The Krays were interesting and I loved the Tom Hardy portrayal of them. But looking at their operation one must conclude that they were most decidedly small time, petty hoods involved in low dollar penny ante activities. Was London really that poor where they would extort club owners for 15 to 20 pounds a week as stated in this documentary? The nightclub business is small potatoes. Nightclubs, for hoods, are to have a place to hangout and not much more than that. The Kray's wouldn't even get noticed if they were operating in the states. I can think of hundreds of hoods that personally whacked more rivals in any given year than the Krays killed in their entire history. No racketeering or union activities, no cartage theft, no hijacking, no murder for hire, no gambling and loan sharking, no wonder they never made any real money. They , by USA standards, wouldn't merit a paragraph on page 17. No longevity or organization acumen. No investing in legitimate business, no money laundering operations, no drug importing and distribution networks. Had they followed and applied time tested methods they might have been able to continue in business to a ripe old age. Still, the fact that were were twins and publicity loving psychotics made them noteworthy and a icon of the times as it was in London during the late fifties and early to mid 60's.

Seemingly there own people hated the krays and so did most of there gang members. They said they were just ponces, leeches, bullys! If they slashed pub owners and other men who worked dam hard to buy a pub or night club then to get that done to them is really low stuff, stabbing and tormenting good men till they signend there pub over to them. Becouse the twins seemingly didnt have the guts and brains to do bank jobs with shooters and that sort of stuff that was serously risky and if cought your looking at least 5 to 10 years in jail. So the twins didnt have it in them to do the real heavy duty stuff, eh? Like bruce reynolds and others who are idolised. A mean really hero worshipped even by kids as young as 12. Becouse the kids and other big time gangsters know it wasnt just the crime of the century, it was the way they did it. That even police secretly admire it and no wonder. Who would be able to think of even stopping a mail train at 70mph at 3am never mind doing it. Yes at least 7 men were falsly fitted up. By placing prints at the farm house hide out but not one bit of evidence was found at the train. Today that wouldnt be enough to convict them, becouse being at a farm house doesnt mean that they were any were near a train 30 miles away? But the goverment were demanding the police and prosecution that they GET THEM jailed no matter what it takes. The british system is one of the worse for sending the wrong man or men to jail for life on false evidence. The jails are full of men innocent of the crime but its all about making the system look great as in there good at there job, when most of the public know what they are and do, and hate these mps that are the biggest criminals that keep stealing YOUR money? The tory peer peado that ron kray set up was cleverly done and its shown here on this film.

So-are you saying the convicted Glasgo to London Train robbers who were sent to prison were actually inocent? Is that the gist of what you wrote? All fitted up. They just happened by complete accident to find a very large amount of stolen money.
