I was a neigbour of Ronnie.He lived in Shirley Hills near Croydon with his wife Anne and two daughters.I worked at his daughters school Old Palace for a while too.He was a lovely man and always said hello to me.I told him a joke once and he offered to pay me for it.I declined.

Michael Palin and Barry Cryer, two very interesting and decent guys who I've met fleetingly at Sauchiehall Street Waterstone's and the Mitchell Theatre respectively.

I'd loved to have met Barry and shook his hand. He worked with Frankie Howerd. He worked with everyone. He was a writer, dammit. Massive respect.

Now Barry Cryer has gone. Seems weird that famous celebrities paying tribute to other ones when they pass away get paid tributes when they go. Sadly won't stop.

AN AMAZING TALENT , so sharp , so much wit, a brilliant mind, he and Ronnie Barker were destined to be partners...... they both had the SAME MIND for comedy.... it still amazes me how alike they were as comedians... comedy Double acts are usually forced together...they either click or they dont..... Comedy double Acts that are related...do not always work..This was something else...!!!!

Pity Palin and Cryer weren't being interviewed by interviewers with the hinterland and bandwidth to appreciate what they were referring to and talking about. Obviously prepped, but the stories and anecdotes would have resonated much more with people like Jonathan Ross or Graham Norton instead of these bozos who have just gone through the cuttings book or been prepped.

Just seen this for the first time and just know Ronnie would be in hysterics at the awful subtitle work!

Some sort of voice recognition? Or someone who just didn't know the subject? Either way, very amateurish.

Sad to think Brucie passed away the following year.
@MrDannyDetail2 жыл бұрын
This was March 2016 and Bruce wasn't a well man by this point. The last time he made a public appearance was in 2015, as his health declined thereafter, so this interview may very well have been the last thing Bruce ever did for television. You also have to factor in that obviously he was mourning the death of Ronnie C who was one of his best friends for many decades, so no doubt emotions were affecting his ability to think clearly, and I'm sure many other people would have been simply unable to even think about doing an interview in those circumstances.

I met Ronnie on a couple of occasions in his home town of Gullane and he was very polite and seemed nice enough to me.
