One of the few sports that you can fall out of love for the game. Ronnie has been a pro for 30 odd years probably played the game for the majority of his life and has had that constant pressure to win since he’s turned pro. Not surprised he feels burnt out at times. As talented as he is he still needs to keep sharp and it probably can be too much considering how long he’s been playing at the top level. I can understand Ronnie’s views on snooker at times. I do hope he gets number 8 and also bags the Sports personality this year. The greatest ever to pick up the cue.

Well, I mean, this is literally... *_His Life._* He played something close to 40 years of Professional Snooker. From when he was the youngest to win a championship at like 16 to now, being the oldest to win a championship. And he's had his ups and downs through it all. Like a Marriage even. Hated the "Governing bodies" for a while, was a bit arrogant and cocky in his youth, etc. He's been just about "everywhere" a Snooker player can, from being the greatest, to watching it all just fall apart, to slowly putting the pieces back together, etc. Now... He's the contemplative experienced *_Veteran_* of countless wars of the sport... but can't stay away as I think he fears... He doesn't know anything else like it. I personally wouldn't be surprised if he took a year or two off, or more.... Only to come back again and play another decade's worth, and at some point in there pick up an 8th (or even 9th) world's title to just Nail the coffin shut for any future "Snooker geniuses" that fancy themselves as the G.O.A.T.

I don't know if he could take that, and might end up just entering the next tournament to "Teach" the student, lol. Ronnie *IS* a "Competitor" at heart... and I don't know how he'd fair watching a "student" mess up. It's not quite like an old Boxer that *knows* he can't win anymore... Ronnie knows he's *STILL* the best player alive, not sure he could stand to sit back and watch the game when he knows he can still win... would probably be better to just avoid it completely for him while he can still play. Maybe when he's 70+ and he's *_Finally_* not *_actually_* able to be the best player anymore, _then_ maybe become a coach.

As much as I do like Ronnie, when it comes to his opinions it’s like a child playing with a light switch. He is constantly changing his opinion to the stage where I’m like do I take anything he says seriously at this point? For example, in one interview when he was told “are you going to try and win a seventh world title?” Ronnie responded back with “To be honest I don’t care about winning world titles anymore I just wanna have fun.” But in another interview he did a few weeks later, when a interviewer asked Ron a question which was “what is your goal?” he said “winning the world championship for the seventh time.” But here I am blabbering pure nonsense about a snooker legend who massively changed the sport just like Alex Higgins and Jimmy White. Although, I am very concerned that if he leaves, snooker is going to face a massive decline (like it isn’t already) at least here in the UK. Please stay on rocket, you still have fuel.

The man's got impeccable taste - purple socks , come on! Let's see anyone else try and pull them off!😁 That's it, I'm getting my pineapple and palm trees shirt out, Ronnie! Let's have a proper wardrobe showdown.

Let us just say that Ronnie is in semi-retirement. At some point in time you have to slow down.

i love watching him play. but there seems to be 2 ronnies. one where when he has a serious face and plays really good snooker and is up for it, then you get the droopey face ronnie where he appears to not give give a hoot what he does and talks nonsence in interviews. we all want to see the first ronnie. but having said that, he is the most naturally gifted player to ever play the game. so please ronnie stop talking rubbish and just play snooker.

The key thing that makes Ronnie better than trump or Selby is that Ronnie has bottle these other two are rather cowardly in play.hendry had lot of bottle too .Steve Davis was cowardly like Selby .

Ronnie is always so dramatic😅,the truth is with his talent he always be a top 16 player even if he doesnt train enough,he is just to good and his cue action and his breakbuilding is the best ever,it is not hard for him he just pretend it is😄

I would have thought he hated the experience of playing the tournament, not hating winning it. If that would be really true, well then he just can decide not to play in it, if he can't stop himself from winning. He does like to be the "weird and controversial superhuman who can't help himself winning"😁

Ah but ask yourself this . So ronnie snaps his que and walks away from playing ...... what is he then ? A mouth piece ? ...... welllll thats not really what he is plus says the wrong things so cant do that for the next 40 odd years . Writing books ? theres only so much can be said before its all been said . Jogging ? the body fails in time . What is he to do with himself ? So why not show up at a few tournaments and have a play without consideration fo winning or losing but for the sake of killing time , having something to do and maybe for a bit of enjoyment of playing . I see thats the frame of mind however this time he went all the way where the fun stopped and it got serious .

@@godzillas6301 if he want to show up for a tournament here and there, it's great. The thing I don't agree with is doing it and then say "oh, why am I doing this. All this winning is so hard." Do it if you want to, but don't pretend you HAVE to. He tend sometimes to say controversial things just to say controversial things. He is a great sportsperson, but he isn't the only one in the game and he isn't winning everything easily as some god. When he looses it isn't always "well, I just didn't feel like winning, couldn't be bothered" which is something he expresses from time to time. Sometimes he loses simply because he didn't play as good as his competitor. This is all my opinion, and no one have to agree of course... ...but it would be nice if it could be respected😁

@@godzillas6301 and I do not agree at all (not Ronnie either I would guess) that his life is over if he quits snooker. He loves running and staying healthy and that can he do for some 20-30 more years at least. If you showed your comment to him saying he is nothing without a cue I would think he'd brake his cue over your head😁

@@bennylloyd-willner9667 Dude .... not going to lower myself . If you think everything everyone does is to win then i feel sad at what a lowly shallow person you really are . Never heard of doing anything for the love of something ? . I doubt if that would work in your mind . You can argue the most basic of facts all you like but you are way off . if you think theres 76 year olds out there running for 6 hours a day then it shows your mindset . Clearly you dont have the smarts to suss when the snooker interest stops its not going to be renewed by tails of one foot in front of the other in an endless cycle of anything thats worthwhile . Clearly you have an insite into the man i dont have but hey ho , i only have a personnal source of communication to the fella so i know nowt .
