As much as I love FiR stuff, and Ronnie's development as a person, I kinda find it hard to believe he has never listened to Bring Me The Horizon. I mean nowadays I am hearing Bring Me The Horizon on the radio as well as playlists on spotify that also have FiR tracks in it. I'm not saying he necessarily took inspiration from this band or that band, but there are some bands that are so big and so infectious with their sound you cannot avoid it. You can say you don't bump it like go out of your way to listen to it or take inspiration for it, but I also listened to Blink-182 and MCR and lots of punk bands, but I remember the day I heard Linkin Park on the radio, and then a week or so later going with my dad to the local Hastings and buying Hybrid Theory the day it dropped and I was seven years old. Linkin Park was the gateway to KoRn, Disturbed, and of course Slipknot. Linkin Park especially had such a massive impact not just on the scene but on music as a whole in those years that anyone that said they hadn't heard of Linkin Park or didn't listen to them was just saying that to be edgy or contrarian or act like they were not into something popular. Love Ronnie, and appreciate his honesty, but EVERYONE bumped Linkin Park in those days. If I was hot swappin AA batteries out of my discman to listen to my burned copy of Hybrid Theory, you bet your sweet asses Ronnie Radke was listening to Linkin Park. I kinda feel like he just doesn't wanna admit it as a pride thing because BMTH credit Linkin Park as such a major inspiration to wanting to make music and Ronnie still has noticeable sass towards BMTH lol. tl;dr I like Ronnie and FiR but stop the cap Ronnie, everyone was bumping Linkin Park and you know it stop playin.

@@1hcc994 it's just more or less Ronnie thinks BMTH are a bit stuck up or something. It's real small petty type of thing. No major rivalry or anything. As far as I am aware.

If I remember correctly, him and Oli from BMTH had some beef or something years ago. And it wasn't until a few years back at the AP awards that they took a pic together with the caption "no beef here". Also, Ronnie tried to get a tour together with Asking Alexandria, Attlia, BVB, and BMTH but a little while later said that there was one person who wasn't interested and I believe it was Oli. I guess he didn't want to open for Ronnie. If I got any info wrong, feel free to correct me thanks!

I think what he’s trying to say is that he wasn’t an active bring me listener, or someone who regularly kept up with their music. It’s almost kind of redundant to say bring me inspires FIR if Ronnie was already in the scene and had an extremely influential EP and LP by 2006, the same year BMTH released CYB, and those two records sound absolutely nothing alike. And as far as Linkin Park goes, nothing off of Meteora or Hybrid theory sounds like anything on DIYLF and those records hadn’t been out that long by then. TLDR I don’t think it’s cap to say he isn’t inspired by them, his wording is just not on point when he says he doesn’t listen to those bands.

5:24 "None of those bands have ever inspired me" 🤔 Well that's a lie. He's literally said in multiple interviews and other places that he loves Underoath and that they inspired him. Even in this video he says TOCS was a perfect album. He's talked about Motley Crue inspiring him in the past too.

@closinginonclosureАй бұрын
@@Nellifla Huh? 🤔 Haha. That's definitely not what he's saying, it's not accurate, and you're misinterpreting what he said. You just suggested he's talking about BMTH, but he literally named Motley Crue right next to BMTH, and Motley Crue was definitely an inspiration to him. It even bled into the way he dressed at certain times. Also, Ronnie has literally said that BMTH has inspired him. He's talked about them on multiple occasions and even given them props as being one of the only other current bands he thinks has been doing good things over the years. As far as Blink 182, Ronnie has literally said he was never a big fan of them. He respects what they did and thinks they were an important band who brought fun to the music scene, but they didn't directly influence his songwriting or anything. To suggest there's Blink influence on the first ETF album is hilarious, though. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. I know intent can be lost through text. Especially when you don't know the person. I'm just sharing information and explaining things, because with all due respect, what you said isn't accurate. I've been following Ronnie in ETF since the debut album came out. I even went to his second show ever with FIR after he got out. It wasn't even an official, proper tour. He was a small run for the new band to basically practice and Ronnie to get comfortable playing shows again, and I saw him at a small Cafe with about 50 people there and talked to him for a bit too. My point is, I'm familiar with him and his career and stuff.

I can see why he says LP never inspired him. The songs they made clearly held no sway on the music Ronnie was putting out in ETF and the early days of F.I.R. He doesn't seem to be the kind of person who gets inspired by his peers in the rock/metal scene, rather he wants to bring in outside elements and make songs that no other bands are putting out. He's a trailblazer, and people like him don't follow trends or get inspired. They do the inspiring. When he started rapping on his albums, nobody was doing that and now you hear bands like Parkway Drive coming out with rapping a little in their songs. Even Jacoby from P Roach is bringing rap back in his band, and that wouldn't be welcomed or even respected if not for Ronnie opening the doors for others to do it. As for him saying he doesn't bump music or at least bands in his scene, I think that's crap. He is constantly looking around for any challengers to rise up and take a swipe at him. And if you don't keep an eye on your competition, they will defeat you. So he absolutely does keep his ear to the ground and checks out what all these bands are putting out.

I love Ronnie and do think he’s original and a trendsetter. But how can you mention Linkin Park in your comment and say at the same time that no rock bands before Ronnie was mixing in rap in their songs lol
@blacksunshine99955 ай бұрын
@SweeetSpice You misunderstood what I said. I never said that nobody had done it before. Of course people have, even years before FIR dropped their debut, Hollywood Undead were rapping in songs with rock elements. BUT, when Ronnie went and dropped Alone on their second album, no bands at that time or even for a few years before that, we're doing rap in rock songs. He was the only one. Everyone thought rapping in rock songs was a died out fad from the nu metal days or some underground band trying to get some hype on MySpace. Nobody was seriously considering it at all because it was almost a certainty for career suicde. Only Ronnie had the charisma and talent to do it and rise above the hate and go beyond. And now you see a ton of artists blending it together now that it's accepted again. And you better thank Ronnie for that.

😎💭 Everything in life is compared against other things, not just songs or bands lol. That's how the brain works. Every sense we have is made up of memories. If I see a orange tabby I'm going think of my dead cat Bella. If I smell freshly cut grass I think of Miller beer bc my dad only drank beer when he mowed our yard. Same with ALL bands ... They all remind us of something or someone else who kind of has a similar sound. I love FIR and Ronnie is sexy as hell❤ I just don't think he understands that it's not something we're doing wrong by explaining what a sound reminds us of❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
