Ronnie Van Zant's Grave Moved AGAIN

The purpose of this video is to amend my video about the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash. Since posting that video the grave of Ronnie Van Zant has been moved again. This video discusses the reasons given by the singer's widow as to why she decided to exhume and reinter his body for the 2nd time.

This I am sure wasn't something she wanted to do. It was out of necessity. What kind of evil person,or person's would disturb a grave? It's sad to think these people live and walk among us. Yes you're right 2000 somebody Ronnie and Steve's graves he was buried in a vault in the ground next to his parents and daughter Tammy, Judy was jealous and moved him again away from his family, now that woman has sucks more cock and Ronnie was going to divorce her!! She probably vandalized it...

This can't have anything to do with vandalism. Hope she's not trying to use that excuse. That is not gonna work. He's still very easily accessible. Even though she's remarried (wonder what he thinks), it seems she wants to be buried beside Ronnie. There wasn't any room at his previous burial site. Now, that Ronnie's parents are gone, she probably felt comfortable moving him. Even Johnnie said "this is where Dad wanted Ronnie". She had to have known that but she thought about HER wishes.

This is the 3rd time RVZ’s body has been moved, it’s sacrilegious! RVZ’s 2nd internment was at his families plot, next to his parents and his 1st daughter Tammy, who claimed she was always treated badly by her step mom, ID want to name the wife’s name. The 1st internment, where the tomb was vandalized, is in a different cemetery, there’s an engraved bench donated by Charlie Daniels, the bench and his orig tomb have just been left there, very odd. At least move the bench to the new spot, where people can cop a squat. Recently, JVZ and Gary did a video, exclaiming they both bought plots to where they could see Ronnie’s grave and were chatting about the distance being so close, that is real brotherly love! But now neither are going to be near their brother, he’s way in the back of cemetery, by some dark creepy woods and a pond, seems like zero security there. I read, his wife’s excuse to dig him up again was, “ Ronnie needs privacy”, did she really forget he was a front man of the South’s most famous band and I doubt his ghost is hanging around graveyards complaining of to many visitors. Someone wrote that this latest move was because she discovered divorce papers going through items from the plane crash, I can’t verify this, nor know what it has to do with a grave move. I suppose she may feel RVZ was too, close to entrance of the cemetery, it’s very busy, which was at least good for older fans. Now any person with an infirmity or in a wheel chair might not be able to access the new and way off a solid off the path grave and on a slight hill, where a wheelchairs might roll into that pond! Besides who would bury a mega famous corpse so near or underground near a body of H2O in FL? I suppose it’s ok, but FL’s H2O table is high and FL is prone to flooding, not to mention there’s gators in every body of FL water, even way up in JAX, heck there’s gators as far N as OK & SC. Watch all small children running about any FL ponds, ok! I wouldn’t be able to walk to the new grave, both my knees are acting up, I can’t go 1 step off level ground. Rumor is, RVZ wife, has been remarried, like what, 2x, but still intends to be buried by RVZ, but nowhere near her step daughter, his 1st child, or her current spouse, humm! I hope Melody will reunite the WHOLE family, incl., Tammy to RVZ’s new site one day. To the wife I say, “please get another pastime and stop moving Ronnie’s body”, folks may think you are a bit unstable! I apologize for my rant, but I find it very odd and distasteful to keep digging up the dearly departed. The thing to do if graves are messed with is erect a nice tall, iron fence and add security cameras, I am sure that cemetery would accommodate both.

Artimus Pyle said the divorce papers were in the road manager's briefcase at the time of the crash. I'm thinking that RVZ's widow and daughter may also be buried someday at gravesite #3. There is room on the bottom half of the stone for additional names.

When I first moved to St. Augustine, Florida, the first thing I did was look for these graves. I saw RVZ's grave and thought it was pretty cramped in that corner. Last week I visited the cemetery to look for Gary’s grave and noticed Ronnie's marker was missing. I was thinking that the family decided to make the grave unmarked due to vandalism. I know exactly where his new gravesite is from where I've been before. Thanks for showing this. BTW, find a grave still hasn't updated the site yet.

I was watching your series, and thinking, how cool, this guy grew up in a Honky Tonk, and did all this research, and knows all these things about people. Plus, you have this room filled with guitars (me too) And, I'm so lazy I get through a minute and 30 odd seconds of trying to play an Entwistle bass line, and start measuring risk vs reward, and start searching for something easier. Plus, I don't know anybody, and got no history to speak of. Which is sort of untrue. Before I was even born, my Dad, was the first bassist that Dion, and the Belmonts had. Dion was supposed to be on the Buddy Holly plane. And when my Mom immigrated to this country, she had to post a bond, and have a sponsor to obtain green card status, and he Aunt, and uncle in Jersey City was Eddie Rabbitt's parents. I once read he started by writing for Elvis, and in his own career, and at some point held the most gold records for a country artist, plus was a good friend of musician/ Racecar driver Marty Robbins. The problem is I never met anybody, except a guy I met through fishing, that told me he was Elvis's guitarist. I only ever heard of Scotty Moore, so I never paid the guy 2 cents, but kept my thoughts to myself. Except Dale Sellers, along with being a master of painting custom lures, was also Elvis's and Wayne Newtons guitarist. Go figure, I've never been somebody to be star struck, but I could have learned so much had a pursued what was right in front of me. I get all jammed up trying to teach myself to play all sort of musical instruments. If I had just shut up and listened.

I didn't know this happened. The only reason I can logically think that she would do this is so SHE & possibly Melody can be buried beside Ronnie. I can't help but wonder what her current husband thinks. There's definitely room at the new location for additional graves. There's no room for her or Melody at his previous grave site. Personally, I would have left him by his parent's, his family & his first daughter. She married into the family. She was not a Van Zant by blood. I'm quirky like this. I work on genealogies & in my opinion blood families should be together. This can't have anything to do with vandalism. If that was the situation, she should've bought a plot like Dale Earnhardt's wife Teresa did in the middle of no where so no one can visit. Install a fence & security cameras. Duane Allman was not buried with any of his Les Pauls.. He had three primary Gibson Les Pauls during his time with the ABB. The 1957 goldtop he played on the band’s first two albums as well as most of the Derek and the Dominos Layla sessions, has been on display at the Big House Museum in Macon, Georgia. The other two Les Pauls, a 1959 cherry burst and a 1958 or 1959 dark burst, are owned by Duane’s daughter Galadrielle and have long been on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. She made sure that both guitars made it to the Beacon, along with Duane’s goldtop, for the Allman Brothers Band’s final performance on October 28th 2014
