I've just come back from Zanskar (Padum area - August 2023). I came in from Leh on the new road, which eventually follows the Zanskar River into Padum. Your film is evidence that you know how to highlight spots, which in the Himalaya is tricky as everything your eyes see is worth filming. I first went into the Zanskar Valley by walking from Lamaryu and across onto Mount Kun in 1993. I've been back since via Leh, Kargil and Rangdum, returning the same way, quite late in the year (end of October 2017) and now coming in via the new road, which turns off south, just before Lamaryu, going over two high passes and then coming down to the Zanskar River all the way into Padum. It is such a stunning place, you immediately feel you are in the remotest part of the world. The mountains don't feel high, just peaks around you, until it is realized that you are in a Valley that is already 10,000 feet above sea level, with peaks soaring up to the sky at 5, 000, 6,000 meters above your head - that's a long way up. I managed to get up to see a couple of villages nearer 4,000 meters. Tiny villages with small fields of peas and barley about to be harvested by hand. Back in UK now, having just been out there and seeing your videos has me pinching myself that I was really there.
