Roof duct penetration curb flashing

Just a quick video showing me jump on the roof and make a flashing for the penetration. This is just to prevent water from getting into the building from the curb where the duct shaft goes through. There will be insulation over all this which will be water tight. This is the way I was taught using 2 x 2 x 2 z channel. I’ve never had an issue with water leaking from doing it this way but I would love to see or hear how other people do this.
