What if your eve is two feet deep? What about the area above this panel. Would it continue to build up just past the exterior side of the wall above the panel.

time to upgrade this video production. Audio has too much echo. speakers speaks with his back to the camera. no close-ups. get a high school student to handle the production of the next video. or take some lessons in serious video production.

Looks like you are creating your own ice dame above the over lay cover???? Last thing I need is an ice dam above the eave overhang in The Upper Peninsula of Michigan

Hello Kenneth. Thanks for taking the time to watch our product tutorial and commenting. Our systems are designed to prevent ice dams from forming. By concentrating the heat from the heat cable in the radiant panels at the roof edge, in valleys, and other areas ice dams do not form. I would agree that no one would want an ice dam forming higher up on the roof. Interestingly, this does occur with roof raking. Removing the first 3 to 6 feet of snow from the bottom of the roof creates a cold edge higher up on the roof where ice dams can form. Please feel free to contact with any further questions at 888-360-7872 and thank you again for your comment.

They don't want to tell because it's EXPENSIVE. My question is, rather than deal with the symptom, it's best to attack the problem. Block heat sources from getting to the attic, install adequate insulation, and verify you have proper ventilation. With these three things corrected, you'll NEVER need this type of product.

HAD A HARRY HELMET GUTTER HELMET SYSTEM INSTALLED ON JUST THE FRONT OF MY BUNGALOW LAST FALL AS A TEST. THE WINTER WAS MILD WITH JUST A FEW SNOWS OF ABOUT 5 OR 6 INCHES EACH. WISH IT WAS A WORSE WINTER FOR EVALUATION PURPOSES BUT IT SEEMS TO WORK O.K. ELECTRICAL CONSUMPTION WISE I COULDN'T REALLY ANSWER SINCE IT WAS USED VERY LITTLE. AN ON AND OFF THING. RECOMMENDATION IS YOU FIRE IT UP 24 HRS. PRIOR TO THE SNOWFALL TO FULLY HEAT UP THE CABLES. WENT WITH THE PERFORATED HELMET TYPE AS MY ROOF PITCH IS STEEP. I HAD TO DO SOMETHING BECAUSE OF WATER LEAKING INSIDE ABOVE MY WINDOWS & ICE BUILD UP.

You shouldn't need to turn it on 24 hrs ahead of time. Just a couple of hours would be all that is needed. If you are using the helmet heat, it may seem like you need it on longer if there is not good contact of the heat cables to the helmet itself. With the heat cables supported by the brackets inside, they can sag down between each of them and loose contact with the helmet surface resulting in poor performance. Our heated gutter guard systems force the cable into direct contact with the melting surface. You get more done with less energy. www.EdgeMeltSystems.com - contact us through the site for more info.
