I get mine at home depot, I like to make tool caddies out of thin plywood and glue the foam to the bottom it works great

Here in Australia you'd also have to be wearing safety harnesses with fall arrestors.

This would be still be a useful tool on steep pitches since somebody has to get to the ridge without a harness to install the D ring. We have the same safety requirements here in the US but lots of people ignore it when possible.

They're not saving any money installing Solar on that Roof. They're going to have to Remove and replace the panels when they have to re-roof which will cost them about $6,000 - $7,000. Unless they are able to get the roof replaced through insurance. They will pay for it. Some Solar Sales people suck.

I agree. The shingle pad is only to aid in positioning and not a replacement for fall protection in anyway. That said I’d rather have the pad than nothing

There's actually someone smart enough to get a parent pending on a couch cushion called a roof gripper. I've been using couch cushions for 30 years

IT was fairly steep (10/12 or 12/12) but there was a large porch roof that we could stand on and work off of.
