I enjoyed my military service and loved the days I went to the shooting range. I served as a combat engineer, heavy duty motor vehicle driver. On a heavy rainy day, mines came from the north of the DMZ and we had to dismantle mines. Some of them exploded under the forklift, but there were no problems. funny days.

@@roskcity yes ankle killer mines are still available so if rain hard at dmz, it float around near to our dmz camp. Combat engineers have to defuse it for safe.

이게 rooftop Korean이 미국에서 총기소지 찬성측 주장의 심장을 꿰뚫는 모습이나 다름없어서 그렇습니다. 미국의 건국은 개인의 권리와 재산에 대한 영국정부의 불합리한 침해에 맞선 민병대로서 시작됐기 때문에 더욱 그렇습니다. 그런데 지금 안정된 미국사회에서는 미정부가 자국 국민을 탄압하거나 정부기능을 상실할 일이 사실상 없다보니 그런 고루한 주장이 힘을 잃어가고 있었습니다. 그러던 와중에 rooftop Korean이 정부가 시민을 보호하지 못할 때(다만 이때 이민자들은 영주권만 취득한 이들이 많아서 시민으로 보기에는 무리가 있었습니다. 그래서 미국경찰이 더 쉽게 손을 놔버렸다는 의견도 있구요.) 시민들이 무장하여 스스로의 재산과 권리를 지키는 모습을 정확히 보여줘 버린겁니다. 무장한 민병대가 다른 지역을 약탈한 것도 아니고 정확히 자신의 재산과 권리를 위해서만 그 힘을 쓰고 상황이 정리된 뒤 해산하다 보니 미국의 총기소지 찬성측에서는 주목하지 않을수가 없었죠. 자신들이 말하던 미국인의 모습을 그대로 재현해버렸으니까요.

경찰을 더이상 믿으면 안된다는 사실은 이제 백인들도 알아차렸을거임. 총기소지 프로파간다라기엔 흑백 둘째치고 그냥 공권력 자체에 대한 불신이 메인 주제같음. 다들 나를 죽게 냅둘때 오로지 경각심과 힘만이 답이란게 논점인거 같은데 거기에 굳이 백인들만 무장하라는 법은 없지 않나 경찰만 없었어도 BLM 계통 극단주의자 및 기회주의자들은 진작에 시민들이 색출해서 처단했지 않을까. 당장 체포해봤자 주지사가 행정명령으로 죄다 빨간줄도 안긋고 몇십번이고 석방해버리는데 선택적 집행만큼 불신해야할 중대한 이유가 없지.

@@arisuhy 당시 황인이라고 업신여기던 위선자들하고 지금 존경하고 벤치마킹 마려워하는 젊은이들이 같은 출신 부류가 아니라는걸 간과해선 안됨. 뭣보다 흑인들조차도 이런 굳건함을 보고 우리가 이걸 배워서 긍정적이고 건전한 사회상을 만들자는 마인드셋을 가진 사람들이 상당수 존재함. 그 존재를 언론이 의도적으로 누락해서 문제지.

since enlisting in the military was and still is mandatory in korea following the korean war, when korean immigrants came to la and experienced the rodney king riots of 1992, many protected their small businesses with pistols, shotguns, rifles, etc. by keeping watch on their rooftops using their former military experience

A lot of those Korean guys were probably Vietnam vets. In South Korea, every man who is physically able has to join the military. Those guys weren't about to lose everything that they'd worked for because of misguided anger from people they'd done nothing wrong to. My grandpa and dad were rooftop Koreans. My dad would tell me stories about how my grandpa would sit on the roof of his friend’s liquor store with a shotgun to ward off vehicles driving by trying to throw Molotov cocktails into the stores. My dad was a college student during this time and he told me how he helped carry the ammo over to my grandpa while he stood watch. Always enjoy it when my dad shares his rooftop stories.
