Rooftop Skiing in France | Good Morning By Richard Permin

Check out Richard Permin's latest video: rooftop freestyle skiing in Avoriaz 1800, France.
Certain days can be really original… They depend on where you live and what you do! Richard Permin’s everyday life for instance is definitely out of the ordinary.
In Good Morning, his latest video project, Richard endlessly repeats his morning routine. Right after getting out of bed, he clicks into his skis and rides down the snow-covered rooftops of Avoriaz. Richard is throwing one backflip after another at a vertiginous height before executing insane tricks on the wooden facades and in the streets of the French ski resort.
This ambitious project was initiated three years ago, but in January 2016, Richard broke his two heels on a severe landing after jumping from one of the rooftops.
After hundreds of hours of physical therapy, he’s making a spectacular come back among the elite of freeski, to complete this unfinished chapter of his athlete life.

@Lamar D. Jackson I agree. I just couldn't enjoy the skii moves, because the shot are from very bad angle and sometimes the 'houses' and view gets more attention. It lost the point of skiing on top of buildings.

@@hannahscott1006 Most people dont live in snow area where you can ski easily anyways.. So even if they can afford all the materials (a lot of people case imo), it would still be a bad investment. Buying a stuff you barely use, they would rather just rent. That's what i do.

What's so beautiful about it? Looks like an artificial town plastered into the mountains for mass tourism. The nature around it is awesome for sure but the town itself doesn't match its surroundings.

rozabo I am French. Avoriaz fits very well considering the cliffs. Other French resorts like Flaine or Tignes disfigure the landscape.

julien cordier cette stations s'intègre au vu des falaises qui l'entourent, la vue dégagée de toute par ce qui lui permet une intégration maximale. Vas voir Flaine, Tignes, le corbier, les arc...... Avoriaz en gardant un style unique a su se démarquer

Nah… It looks good on photos, but it‘s like a 70‘s mega-chalet vision of tourist-cages for the masses. I‘ve been there and the actual feeling is kind of creepy.
