Not sure if you’re into Tucker Carlson or not but I just watched a great talk he did while in Australia about Australia and my country the United States. His speech had nothing to do with politics as he made some great points about your beautiful country that I feel were both flattering & fascinating. If your not then no worries I still see you and your gorgeous country the same. ✌🏽🇺🇸🇦🇺🙏

Looks good, but wear point is the rope on the roof rack. 7:09 .. Id be installing a small roller guide, even if it was removable

I have installed a short section off Teflon there and works fine.

Hey mate thanks for commenting and watching, unfortunately I don’t have a video off the cover my mum made it for me. We have gotten up to so many good adventures with our boat loader on our channel.

@@LifeAdriftAU My Youngest Son and I have a 14ft Tinny with a 6 hp. Motor that we drop in The Patuxent River here in Southern Maryland. We catch loads of Fish, Clams, Oysters, and Crabs and get into some Skinny water to do it or the deep Chanel. Little Boats like this are cheap to use and you can take em anywhere. Yea we were able to save a lot off money so that was helpful. Also not many off the rack options for a Prado and you’d be paying big $$ that’s for sure. Thanks for the comment 👍

You can find these one pre made ready to go for $4K plus. Ours cost us only $800

Howdy. I don't want to 'rain on your parade' but I think you may need to take another look at the weight you are carrying on your roof. Rhino-Rack only allow about 90kg of cargo on their RTPB1 Backbone and by the time you have the tinny (86kg), the awning (10kg), the winch (8kg), the extra bar-work( est. 20kg) you are already overloaded by 34kg... before you also add the tinny mover wheels, a couple of crab nets & the esky. I'm not just trying to have a go at you... just wanted to point it out for your safety.

Very helpful video, thanks guys. I'm pretty new to the channel so sorry if you've mentioned it in the past, but where are you storing the boat motor in your wagon? I'm looking at doing something similar
@LifeAdriftAU Жыл бұрын
Hey mate no that’s perfectly fine to ask. We store our outboard in the foot well off the back seat. As we are only two people driving around. Amd we just lock it in place when we role the front seats down. I wanted it to be in the car so if we have to drive to a ramp to launch we can leave our van set up. Our draw bar is tiny but I think that’s where most guys put them
@JoshSinnott97 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, that's not a bad idea. I'm thinking of removing my middle seats and having a mounting plate bolted to a false floor but just thought I'd see how you guys went about it. Pretty good how it just sits there and doesn't move around for you guys though Yeah I'm in the same "boat" aha. I'm not towing so if everything can be in or on the car I'd be laughing. The trackabout camper trailer is pretty cool with the boat and outboard being able to be mounted onto it. Maybe one day aha
@LifeAdriftAU Жыл бұрын
Yea if you have the time I recommend taking the seats out and making up a floor you can secure it to. You’ll also pick up so much room for storage. We were a bit rushed for this trip

Hello mate great video has given me some inspiration to set up my own! 1 question have you noticed any extra drag with the tinnie on top? Extra fuel etc?
@LifeAdriftAU Жыл бұрын
Great question mate, it really does add a lot off drag. By it’s self no boat adding 2L per hundred and with a boat it adds another 3 I recon. Amd does slow us around. But we wouldn’t travel around aus with out a boat so we just have to use it
@scotttroyahn4016 Жыл бұрын
@@LifeAdriftAU I’d be towing a pretty big caravan as well so maybe it won’t affect it much from that drag! Any little tweaks you’d do to it after using it for a while now?
@LifeAdriftAU Жыл бұрын
I put a 100mm piece off Teflon where the rope comes out the winch onto the frame as it was rubbing slightly. Probably wouldn’t bother with the roller again. Other then that pretty good. Yea vans behind the car arnt to bad cos once you get the weight moving it keeps rolling. The boat constantly creates drag even though low weight. But I would t do a trip like this with out a boat. 👍
