I’d love to know the reason for Barra builds in particular, like is it genuinely for the street cred and social acceptance or is there a really good reason for it? If you want to go fast, why not just keep the engine in the car and fang that around, at least then it would be comfy. I find all sorts of swaps cool and fascinating, I just have no idea why so many people put barras in patrols

@@thatsgangsta2450 the 4L Barra is a long stroke design and the midrange torque - where most driving is done - is phenomenal. You can also still have 750nm @ 2000 rpm, 1000nm @ 3500rpm

This one has 800nm, and that is a very mild tune. Easy to make 750nm @2000 rpm and 1000nm @ 3500rpm in a mid level tune.

Your talking about a six cyl mate. Not a v8. For an in-line 6 they can be mistaken for v8s (obv no where near as good sounding as a v8). They are prob the nicest i6 cyl out of 2j and Rb. But then again the exhaust system etc have a big determining factor on sound.

It all boils down to the fact that a true petro head would appreciate the sound of Hp regardless of the cylinder count . A well sorted K series 4cyl sounds amazing at 9,000 rpm as does a 6cl V configured engine or a I6 cylinder engine like the barra or Jz & Rb . Yes we’ve al earned to love the harmony of a nice loped v8 but there more to great sounding motors ten the V8 . Listen to a Ferrari V8 or Audi V10 or a Lamborghini V12 . Tell me that those power plants don’t make u love all engines .
