I totally got into this video. When doing engine swaps of any type, one will run into issues. You both used your heads and figured this out without having to rob the checking account. Great job! I did engine swaps back in the day, that were insane! The worst was a BBC into an Opel GT. took six weeks of fab work and garage built chassis fabrication. LOL nightmares are what dreams are made of!

You do good work Martin, and don't listen to the negative nitwits you like the Cummins I myself haven't driven many of the new ones but got a lot of years running the old big cam 350 tuned up to 400. Favorite still has to be the old 3406B Kitty cat. Loved that old KW900.. take care guys.

If you move the engine forward 2 inches will that put the fan in too close to radiator or do you need to move radiator 2 inches? Nice project , glad I get to watch from my recliner enjoying my morning coffee. See you on next one.👍

No the fan will be where it needs to with this engine. The hub on the Paccar engine is much longer, has this goofy spacer.

@@TruckingTogether im assuming that the radiator would sit at same spot as where paccar engine was before..: it gonna be very interesting to see how you guys remodify the wires systems next … its always great to have extra set of eyes 👀 in case you didn’t notice something like dave does … my uncle once swapped his old 300 cid inline 6 cylinder engine out of his F250 4x4 with my big block 390 i gave to him to drop into his F250 and it was really interesting project and fun to work on because a smart and cool head prevail

The radiator will sit in the exact same spot. Back in the day before it was cool I stuck a 5.9 12v Cummins in a 92 f350 crew cab dually. Yanked the 460.

Yes, several things to consider on a repower and it's easy to overlook one. I was involved in selling Cummins repowers for industrial/construction equipment and one of the challenges was modifying a flywheel to adapt to what was being driven by the engine, Cummins didn't always have one for certain applications.

It never fails. I hate when stuff like that happens, I am not a person with lots of patience, something I constantly work on. You two work well together. Having a big shop is the sure ticket ya need to have. I’m looking forward on the end results of all your hard work. That’s got to be tough , after a hard days work 4 1/2 hour drive home, plus you had to drive 4 1/2 to get to the shop. All in all not many would take on that task of rebuilding the Pacar Pete with 9 hours of driving to get back and forth from your home to the shop and back. You will make that trip a few times. Grat job making it work. How about the hood ? Is the engine height any different that the original engine? The radiator you probably had some distance between the fan blades and the radiator with the original engine? It will be a beauty when you get it running.

that issue is the first of many your going to have, fyi they make three different transmission tops. forward, middle and rearward. just a hint you better order a ac line crimper.

Hi curious about one thing, does that truck have a body controller? If so will it work with the dual overhead cam ISX? Only ask because that engine was made far before that body. I had heard with new glider kits sometimes the truck electronics didn’t work with the engine electronics because of the age difference.

It has a cecu cab controller. If it were a older cm570 then some wires have to be swapped on obd port but an 871 will communicate just fine

I would stayed with paccar... I have 3406e cats 3406b cat mack mp8 and paccar mx 13...i would never of swapped out that paccar.. Paccar good engine learning the text book stuff (wiring)..save you lots..
