As long as you keep up on maintenance it should be ok. My truck is a 94. 60 series detroit 11.1. Pulling corn on a hopper bottom. Lightest load yesterday was 94,000. If she blows up just park it and buy another. Theres tons of trucks for less than $10,000. I think my next truck is a kenworth short hood. Got her scouted out. Down side is a cat engine.

You're telling me you want a Volvo over an international? Definitely a rookie....Volvo is at the absolute bottom of my list. I have a Freightliner Cascadia mid roof, I like it. Our company mostly has Cascadias and international LTS. Few Coronados and pete 579's. Don't think they own a single Volvo company truck. Also pretty damn lucky to get a brand new truck out the gate like that. Ive been with my company 3 years now Im just about to get my first brand new truck. My starter truck had about 60,000 miles on it fresh out of school, I thought I got pretty lucky with that. Enjoy, trucking truly is an amazing job. Nothing like doing your own thing you make your own schedule just get there on time. Has its downs but its also great at the same time. I love it, Will probably do it the rest of my life

@user-uh9lg9wg1d5 жыл бұрын
We all are only legal for 80,000 lbs gross. Unless your a permit load, oversized or RGN heavy haul etc. Trust us tho. 75 -76 isn’t heavy. Your steers are grossed for 13200 lbs. (12,000) legally. 80,000lbs for that tractor is nothing. Remember your fuel weight. 7.2 lbs per gallon. Just say 8 lbs. save yourself the grief. Quite often I am over 80,000 lbs slightly. ie. 80,500. Google APU exception. Most states allow 450 lbs and some allow 550 lbs. so don’t stress over the weight on that load. Your actually right in the happy spot, any lighter and the wind will get ya
@vegaslimoguy23765 жыл бұрын
@@user-uh9lg9wg1d And with the APU exception topping off your tanks wouldnt have made any difference. A few hundred pounds you were saving on fuel would not have helped you at all. They are only going to pop you if you are way over. I crack up everytime i hear a driver say they couldnt fill up all the way, that does not save much weight at all on the truck just a waste of time. Read up on the APU Acception. Driver of 25 plus years here.
