@VampireAlienWerewolfZombieFromHell Well, her voice is because it's an adopted accent. She's Danish, and it's very common. So that's either racist or just odd. As for ruining QI, I can't stand Stephen Fry so I'm glad she's doing it, because I'm actually watching it now. And where to start with the "pointless feminist agenda". That's just so stupid it's funny. You can call it an agenda if it's an organisation doing it, perhaps, but when it's one person's opinion/belief, calling it pointless OR an agenda is bizarre, but calling it both is laughable.

Problem with spell checkers is that they get it wrong... They use U.S. spellings 90% of the time & when you want to make your spelling largely internally rigourous (rigorous for others), then it becomes a real hassle to fix all of the time. Using 'e's before '-able' suffixes for example is a suggested fix in the English language, but we're never going to get a full push for it - as we're all so dissociated from one another now. Just let us spell how we wish to spell - I want Anglo-Norman 'u's in my words (e.g. creatour, surveyour, etc.), it's not that difficult to understand/conceptualise.

"Pointless things you learn at school", says someone who hosts not one but two TV shows revolving around obscure knowledge...
@josefv11543 жыл бұрын
From what I remember about Sandi's guesting on Desert Island Discs, most of the obscure knowledge she had came from how encouraging her father was about learning current and global affairs. I guess what Sandi referring to here is how some lessons are impractical but can be a matter of grave importance to students who will never use them in real life applications.

I hate this idea that there were all these things that I learned at school and they were a waste of time.... I heard it all the time at school. Why do we need to know this or that. Sandi Toksvig hosts QI which is about all these esoteric subjects that people may not know the details about so she has made a bit of a living out of that.. It would be odd if in school the teachers said 'ok who wants to be a tv personality and comedian when they grow up?. Ok Sandy we have a special curriculum for you..'.
