The Mom Team advises new moms on what to expect at your birth facility, including rooming-in with your new baby. It used to be that newborn babies were taken to a nursery during part of their hospital stay. Many birthing facilities have babies rooming-in with moms, which promotes breastfeeding and healthy bonding. When rooming-in you get to know your baby and their feeding cues about being full and hungry. It's the training ground with nurses and lactation consultants to help before you go home. Your pediatrician also checks in when you are rooming in.
