The final arrangement of the room is so much better than the symmetrical arrangement it started in. It looks more casual and really maximizes the space in that corner. Well done! I also appreciate that the whole process is in one video! No waiting! 😄

This is how I do it. I have 2 specific rooms..a "show room" where my rare, mature/maturing plants & IKEA cabinets are, and a "grow room" where I repot, prop, etc. Both rooms are full of plants, and I still have more common (or just less needy) plants all over the house, but it's sooooo nice to have one room to just sit down and LOOK at plants in, that feels like a jungle. As our Florida weather returns over the next month, many of my plants will go outside, as I train them up poles (like yours, thanks for the inspiration!) and it will feel less cluttered than it does now. You'll love it!

Such a fun project! I'm obsessed with your crystallinum hybrid at 44:30, it almost looks like it is crossed with a papillilaminum of some sort. Also I know you're not a huge hanging plant person, but for your consideration: a long, velvety A. pallidiflorum or A. wendlingerii would look incredible mounted up on the wall above some of the shelves. imo the pallidiflorum leaves are the most fun anthurium to watch grow because the new leaves on mine go from 2 inches long to three feet long in a week or two!

Two points: - I think if you painted the top of those tables you spray painted a green to match the boxes in the kallax shelves it would look amazing and really tie all the furniture together. If not green, get some vinyl from Kmart and cover the tops to match the bed/chair legs. You could also cover the tops of the kallax shelves to hide the damage in them. 2. Your friends garden was amazing! That grass was so lush and did I spy some monstera in the garden beds?! Can we have a tour? 😂 Great video :D

Total inspiration! Brad is the best helper you can get...and the person helping with the video does a great job also. The reflected light from your light walls and the new lighting should be perfect for those anthuriums...congrats on making this room so special. We live here in Tuscany, with the same summer heat and winter chill plus rain that you have...we are lucky to have a south-facing window situation here, so I can bring in all my warmth-loving plants for the 3-4 months when we can have a frost (some coming this week)...but by February we're already seeing warmth returning, Spring bulbs coming up, and house plants anxious to get outside again....love your videos, so please keep them coming!!

We need s "easy plants to mature for beginners" videk, talking about plants that beginners can mature easily.
@sydneyplantguy
@sydneyplantguy Жыл бұрын
The plants that are easy to grow to maturity mainly depend on your environmental conditions, not your experience level. So this is a tricky video to make but I will give it a shot eventually ;) I for example have had the easiest time growing P. verrucosum to maturity and it was one of my first plants but I know lots who are struggling.

Jan... WHAT AN AMAZING PROCESS!!.. and You look soo happy.. I really admire your aesthetic sense. This is your best video in terms of the process of loving your gorgeous plants (so far you've prepared the best place and way for them, but we don't know the process clearly). I can't imagine how busy you were preparing all this before. I really appreciate all of your effort..it is so much fun that we are all happy too. I'm so happy with Brad's adorable behavior... Brad wants to always be involved in this happy process. We love you, Brad😻... And I really like the final result of this room make over, especially when you put up a wall decoration that really matches the anthurium.. It's like seeing a tropical atmosphere in my own country..."What a beautiful Anthuriroom!".. Jan...I never thought you've got such a beautiful anthurium collection!.. Now I can only find out of each one has a different name and different origin (some are hybrid). Here all of your beautiful anthurium plants are called "Kuping Gajah"...It means " The Ear of Elephant" because its shape large like elephant ear 😂.. Jan...Thank you so much because your videos allow me to see this world in a different and better way which makes me so happy.. Let me guess, are you planning to replace the P. Sodiroi with the A. Warocqueanum someday? That will be perfect! By the way, the Mother grow lights really looks amazing.

Great idea for a video, and great collection and grow room organization! When does the Queen get to come grace the anthurium room?

Thank you :) I'll keep her in my cabinet as long as I can but I feel like with the next leaf or two she might outgrow the cabinet :P

@Sydney Plant Guy I have some monstera and planning to make poles like yours- hopefully 😁, but I can't find here in Greece moss like the one you use. Is there a particular name for this moss so I can look for it online?

Agree, fills a large chunk of empty wall, adds to the natural theme but I didn't want a photo of my plants ... that would be too predictable :D
