I love her transperency about herself and her voice, etc....that kind of honesty is refreshing in todays world. =)

Not sure what she feels about Voices Carry today knowing that a lot of musicians cannot stand playing their biggest hits from their early days but I still find that song haunting and her voice with incredible range to this day. I love and own all types of music but that song is in my top ten all time favorites. It is moving!

The coolest … amazing chronology. She’s so authentic. She was in Boston when I graduated high school in CT. Her story maps onto the start of my own life as a young adult. I loved her references …. Nina Hagen? Touring with Hall & Oates. I loved that she just went for it. Fearless but also seemed to really know and trust herself at a young age. One of my favorites. Hands down. I love her ethos and style now.

great interview! I've never really heard her do a comprehensive interview like that. it sounds as if the Til Tuesday split was more amicable than I suspected. though she has moved on from that period musically, I still love that music for what it was. exciting to hear what is in the works, but hopefully another solo album won't be too far down the road as well.

Love that she mentioned Pia (Vai). I was so excited when Steve told me he asked Pia if she thought Aimee would sing on his album and Aimee said yes. What a beautiful tune! NO MORE AMSTERDAM from Story of Light. I love that piece. The music world is so small!

I still love Aimee Mann! Her voice was a big part of my growing up in the 80s as a teen.

Fantastic interview! I love that it covers her whole life doing music, not just the more recent stuff.

But why does every interview of with seem so two-sided?

She's self deprecating. She was learning her style way back in 77. I used to encourage her and I knew she had talent. She's super smart We were in classes together and she was straight as. She went to open high for her senior year. We had a project to demonstrate what a million looks like. We got an amount close to that in bottle caps. It easy quite the hill/mtn. In the parking lot at midlothian.

Amazing! She’s incapable of being a narcissist. She’s a gift for me lately. She’s part of my morning routine. Coffee, Vibrolux up on an old diner table pointing at my face, a Strat. I just look her up and play to whatever she does. It’s odd I discovered Til Tuesday in my late twenties when I was in the Air Force. I didn’t think about the names of band members. Ha I’m 64 years old and I’m just now getting the connection. I was just looking for that voice I remember to use it for my playing and oh that girls name is Aimee Mann. So I look her up. She’s brand new to me in a way. I like her voice and it’s not depressing. I’m quite happy waking up to her every morning.

She was writing songs then. I was there. She was always in the music room. Her sidekick was a girl named Lucille Romanello. The holiday inn she speaks of was owned by paul makris and john ross.

As a songwriter & composer in my opinion, Aimee’s best song without doubt is ‘Voices Carry’. It really is a #1 hit regardless of its highest position at #8. Just a great song all around & has already proved out to be timeless.

Aimee Mann has a great voice - 12:06 PM hours Pacific Standard Time on Thursday, 28 March 2019 by the financially insolvent and financially insecure and financially troubled u.S. military veteran Max Rafael Waller who is still employable

I wish the interviewer would have shut up and let Mann speak her mind, explaining the disappointing details of her music career and those who made it so depressing for her. he stifled her almost every time, answering his questions for her. what was the point?
