That's wonderful! I like the Japanese "Kominka" house because a lot them are very well built with good wood material. Renovate, recycle, reuse them are great ideas and efforts. Wish you a great success! As you are going to do all by yourself, please do it slowly and take good care of yourself in your work!

Thank you very much for your comment MY Yu! You are the first person to make a comment to my channel. Yes, you are right, Japanese "Kominka" house is very well constructed and easy to repair & maintenance. I am not sure how long does it take to complete the renovation work but as you said, I will do this very slowly and be careful about safety. Thanks again for your comment!

@@underthewalnuttree-diy7382 Thank you very much for your reply. I am absolutely happy to be one of your first fans. Your video is recommended to me because I have been searching and watching similar videos on KZbin. "Kominka" is a big part of Japanese culture and I really recommend the Japanese people to apply for a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage for the architecture, if possible. That way, this cultural and architechture art can be better appreciated and protected around the world. Of course, it is absolutely important for young people like yourself not only to inherit but also to innovate this tradition today so that this particular Japanese cultural form will have a chance to renew the beauty of its life. Although, from your personal point of view, what you are doing is just your hobby, however, if more and more young people can join you in this trend, then the beneficial impact will be significant to the whole society in the following ways like revitalizing the rural areas, caring for the land, producing food, creating employment opportunities, pioneering in a better lifestyle, etc. Thank you greatly for your sharing and by the way, your English is super too and I am thrilled to be able to communicate with you directly in English as I don't know much Japanese which I am learning very very slowly.

Thank you very much for your reply MY Yu! I totally agree with your thoughts. There are many good old cultures in Japan but unfortunately, Japanese like new things and technologies and many people wanted to live big city like Tokyo (I live in Tokyo by the way). However, ironically, this world crisis is leading us to the other direction. The trend of moving to country area from urban area is slowly coming and I think it is a chance for us to change our mind. I hope more people will be interested in the country life and more "Kominka" house should be renovated. Thanks again for your thoughtful comment!

I am now 75, but in my 20's or so, I would have loved a place like this. Where is it - what Prefecture? I have been to Japan many times over the years. It a pity that Japan makes it so difficult for foreigners to become citizens. There is a lot of hard work and money to spend but I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours. I have subscribed to watch you do it. ( I am an Australian/American.)

@@underthewalnuttree-diy7382 Thank you for your reply 🙂. I am curious how much a property like that would cost that is why I asked. It is totally fine if you are not comfortable to disclose the price.
