Hello! First off, thanks for the very informative video! I LOVED it🥰 I had a question though I'm not sure you'd see this so I'd appreciate it if anyone staying at UCD dorms would answer: I've heard there are pest species in Ireland, such as spiders, mice, etc. How bad is it at UCD dorms? And how do you deal with them? Thanks again❤

Thanks for the tour, it answered many of the queries i had earlier. Can you tell me if the bathroom and kitchen were private or shared among those three bedrooms?

The kitchen was shared between four people and we had two bathrooms so two people used one and two people used the other. Our apartment had four bedrooms but other complexes were divided up differently.

Hello I wanted to know how the rooms are setup based on number and where is the kitchen located. Also are we allowed to pick who to share restroom with?

Sandra Varas hey! The rooms were randomly assigned so I didn't know which one I would get or the people I was with. Some apartments did bathrooms by gender or room # or randomly.

Every room is connected to a large hallway. I was able to choose who I shared the bathroom with but every apartment does that differently. One room faces the courtyard while the other three face the back.

Did they put most of the study abroad students in Belgrove or were all the study abroad students spread out amongst all the dorms?

Hello! I have one or two questions and it would be awesome if you could answer some of them :) i am a 16 year old German girl and I will be finished with school next year. I’d love to go to university in a different country. Would you say that TCD is a good choice? What are the people like? What is campus life like? What is Dublin like? (I visited Dublin a year ago and I loved it). I hope some of you could answer a few of my questions :D there probably won’t be a better source than first hand experience, right?

I actually studied at UCD so was a bit outside the city but thought it was a great choice! I know people that studied at Trinity and loved it also. Dublin in an awesome city and there is a lot to see and do there. Overall, Irish people are extremely friendly and happy to meet and get to know foreigners. I'm sure you will end up having a great time!

+Elizabeth Montego Hey! the rooms in Melville are a little bit different. I think they just have a bigger living space and maybe a couch (if I remember correctly). They are nice too! Have a great time!

Erin Davis not when I was there, but it has been a few years. We just went into the computer and selected a room that had a free spot. I saw names but knew nothing else.

Tapaanshu Bhadra hey! I think all on-campus accommodation comes furnished as it is mainly used by international students. And actually a lot of apartments are bought furnished in Ireland for some reason.

Staying on campus is very handy. I would look at what buildings that majority of your classes are in and go from there. Most of the accommodations are comparable as far as "niceness" so I would go based on location!

kartik Sharma yes i got to choose it! And could choose my roommates to some extent (but didn’t know anyone so that didn’t seem to matter).

I was able to choose it for myself but I think the process has changed since I was at UCD!

I am not in Ireland anymore! I spent like 10 hours per week in class and the rest studying and traveling around Europe!

Heli Mika it is a bit of a shock because many Irish students go home on the weekends so if you live on campus that can be a bit weird. Also, a lot of students go out during the week which is fun but was a large adjustment for me. I mainly stayed friends with international students, and made only some Irish friends. The campus is accessible to downtown by bus which is nice as Dublin has all the fun and convenience of a European capital!

There would be some house parties or pre-drinking in rooms and then going out. Most of the partying at UCD was pre-drinking and then catching the bus or taxi into town to go to a club.

+Annemarie Barbier I don't know if you are technically "allowed" to but everyone does! You just have to be careful not to hurt the paint. And the paint at Belgrove is super cheap so chipped very easily.
