9 years ago I was in a Michaels craft store and came across this incredibly beautiful and unique coloring book called "Secret Garden". I was with my friend and was a little embarrassed, (this was obviously before adult coloring was a thing), but couldn't leave it behind. Of all the thousands of illustrators out there, you are still my favorite. Thank you for starting such a beautiful trend 🙂.

I loved my Worlds of Wonder book. I have colored all the pages, the inside of the covers and the outside of the covers. I am so in love with that book. Hi, Johanna! Thank you for this book. I have ADHD, and I love your books. My psychologist suggested me, since I love coloring books, to use those pages with assorted little things as a reward. So, every half hour of studying I complete, I can color one small drawing as a reward. It takes no more than 5 minutes to color one object, and I can execute and complete, thus giving a my brain persistence in long tasks by fulfilling those small drawings during the pauses. I particularly love Lost Ocean and Rooms of Wonder. Lost Ocean because the intricate small details helps my brain slow down and focus, Rooms of Wonder because there is lots of pages with small single objects to use as rewards.

Love love love this book! I’m so happy I preordered it. My favourite part is all of the individual bits… as a mom it’s hard to take on a whole page as it could take months to finish. But the individual bits are a nice way for me to sit down and colour something, while knowing it’s an accomplishable task. Thanks for including those in this book! Can’t wait to get my copy.

I absolutely adore your work! I have always been an arts & crafts type of person, and I just recently got back into coloring so my hubby just bought me a set of 120 Prismacolor colored pencils that will be delivered today, and I also ordered Worlds of Wonder and Rooms of Wonder that will be delivered tomorrow, and I CANNOT wait!!! I can't put into words how excited I am! I look forward to being creative and adding my own touch to the coloring pages, and I already have so many ideas! I will be collecting ALL of your coloring books! I think I will get Lost Ocean and Magical Jungle next! And I'm going to color an entire book as a gift for my mom, I just haven't decided which one I am going to color for her, maybe the Enchanted Forest! What an interesting and imaginative book. I am quite sure that many people are going to love coloring all the bits and pieces. But, with all due respect, I will not be among them. There are just too many bits and pieces. I would need fineliners or very sharp pencils to get into those busy pages. I feel a bit disloyal to feel this way. Thankfully I still have many pages to color in Worlds of Flowers and Worlds of Wonder. Wishing you much success with this new book.

My husband came up with a pretty cool idea for a couple of coloring pages while we enjoyed watching you flip through your beautiful “Rooms of Wonder” coloring book, He said that you should have a messy teenage boys room. Because there are so many different things you could put in that drawing. From dirty clothes on the floor. Maybe some dirty sports equipment like American football pads thrown on the floor with cleats and a helmet. Half eaten plates of food with a fly or two hovering about. Half drank beverages throughout the room on whatever surface they could fit them on. Maybe a few tipped over cups with fluid dripping down the side of a desk or dresser. Some candy wrappers, soda cans, empty bags of chips, etc etc… you could go on and on when thinking of the mess a teenage boy can leave behind. And another page of a messy teenage girls room. And I’m sure you can come up with some great ideas and base it off of the teenage boys room except geared more towards things girls destroy their room with. You could really have some fun with this one! 😂

I got tired of waiting for Amazon. I ordered the UK version at Book Depository. I prefer the UK version of Johanna’s coloring books anyway because the are sewn together and less likely to fall apart with use.

@@MoonSpinners I use a mixture of pencil types, pens, sometimes I will use ink pads that are dye based by pressing them down onto a surface that won’t absorb them. On the rare occasion I use gel pens but that’s more to add a slight sparkle or shine :)

@@CassidyMayRolfeYates ..oooh, very nice. I too like a bit of sparkle. I like the Coliro metallic watercolour paints, if you use it thickish, it’s really gorgeous in colouring books.

I've only just discovered your colouring books. I have Worlds of Wonder and this one is arriving tomorrow. I absolutely love what I've seen. I might be a bit intimidated by it though 😂. What sort of pencils do you recommend using in it? I can't afford expensive ones, I have to shop on a budget xxx

Depending where you live, you can sometimes pick up pencils and other art supplies second hand on eBay etc. it’s certainly a good way to try things out. People often sell off supplies they don’t use, like spare colours that came in sets and they used the others. You can also ask around friends and relatives, people often have a handful they want to ditch. Failing that, most artists colours come in singles, so you can just buy a few. Saves getting colours you don’t like and also committing to a set (even a small one) before you know you like them. It’s amazing the effects you can get with very few colours. Better to have a few decent pencils than a huge set that are pretty awful. You’ll get fed up with those fast.

I don’t have those so I don’t know. But there are test pages at the back so you can find out. And there will be lots of reviews out with people using different materials and brands. They normally report if the paper is the same as previous books so if you have others that is useful information too. Have fun. 🤓

That's a negative on the copic markers! They will bleed onto the next pages. BUT if you're willing to sacrifice what's on the back of your coloring page, by all means go for it! The only coloring books I would ever recommend for alcohol markers are single sided images and even then you'd need to throw some paper behind the page so it doesn't bleed to the next page.
