To be completely fair to Brandon, I (clarinet player) wouldn’t want to use a used reed. It’s not a germ thing as much as a general “I don’t want to put my mouth on something someone else has recently put their mouth on.” There’s just something weirdly intimate about it, you know? Like it’s different with a guitar or piano because no sane person uses their mouth to play those.

Yeah I played Trombone much more recently that him and I wouldn't be able to remember anything more than him and I was first chair like him. Musical instruments are a really complex thing to keep in your head that require constant practice.
