I am amazed at your knowledge. You explain things slowly and easy to understand. Surely your site will grow very fast. I have lots of plants and subscribe to several plant people. I don’t think any of them know what they’re talking about most of the time. I thought they did. I learned from them to let my plants dry out, don’t up plant to a too big of a pot, don’t feed in winter, don’t up pot in winter etc. all wrong mostly. Since I found you last month I am gradually changing my way of caring for my plants. I live in the southwest desert and have lots of natural light in my little house. The sponge example was a good one. I hope word gets around in the plant community about your channel. Did you learn all this on your own? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Donna

I have another question…..you never mention pests. Seem all other plant you tubers are always fighting pests. Do you have problems with them? Donna

No, it's all about how we care for the plants. They are indoors and they live in the environment we have control over not them. We must understand what they need and provide it and then they can take care of most of the other stuff. plants mostly do just fine on their own outside. I have talked a little about pest control in some of my vids and will more, but a healthy plant is a safe plant. And I'm happy you're slowly adopting some of the thing I talk about...Please don't make dramatic changes in how you care for your plants. They have adapted to how you care for them, and any changes need to be slow as they grow and change and adapt to new conditions slowly. So happy to have you as a viewer thanks for the comment.

Sorry I missed your first question; I do have some formal education and training. And have worked off and on as a professional (outdoor) gardener my entire life. I've learned not to try and change the environment for the plants we want but to instead plant what will thrive in the current natural environment. This will save a lot of time and work as well as money to Maintain a beautiful landscape. Indoors I'm trying to provide my plants what they need from day 1 so they are healthy so I not running around trying to fix problems and save dying plants....No fun doing that.

I rotted my pretty pink princess philo & my birkin 😢 all they had left were violin strings. The princess is in water with a little peroxide because she had nodes. The Birkin - still had some roots but no little water roots left and I planted it in super chunky soil in an orchid pot for ventilation. I just wish I was better at reading when they need water. I was using a moisture meter and watering at 2 but they just didn’t dry out quickly enough, I guess ….

Damn I did everything backwards!! I had a young monstera that I knew wasn’t growing right, I thought it was because the pot was too small. But when I went to repot it and added a moss pole, I noticed that a lot of the roots were black but no odor but they just fell off when I rinsed them in water. So I didn’t prune anything and I didn’t dip them in peroxide water. I didn’t add rooting powder or cinnamon. I just potted them up on a moss pole with a chunky airoids mix. Also I didn’t water with plain water I watered the premoistened moss pole with my weak super thrive fertilizer solution and put it in a sunny window. OMG I don’t know if there’s anything else I can do today besides hope and pray for the best- what do you think? Thanks so much, Ginger

make sure the nodes are in contact with the moss pole and keep it moist. add the cinnamon now.
