Thank you so much 👍 excellent advice and very clear to understand. Please, please can you tell me where that beautiful piece of mohair you were holding comes from? And also the type? Thanks

I had a couple, one was alpaca and one was fine adult mohair both were the brand is Silk Effex. She has the absolute best quality hair! It's pretty much all I use now.

Where do you buy your curly mohair?

I do prefer to buy raw and gently process it at home. I have shampoos and conditioners that are specifically used to treat sheep and angora wool/fibre!

I actually don't usually root curly hair, so don't buy it. I did buy some a couple times from Slumberland Mohair, but haven't used it yet.

Just so i am not confused, theres so much information! I have some curly kid mohair, which needle would you recommend? I have 42g forked needle right now and i struggled rooting lashes, and want to practice rooting hair on a practice head

I can't root with a forked needle, they are really difficult, I only know 2 artists that use them successfully. For kid mohair I would reccomend a 43g or 46g crown needle. These ones are awesome! www.etsy.com/listing/585587842/crown-mix-felting-needles-includes-40g

Can I straighten the mohair before I root?

@lyrins3222 You can, on very low heat. Just keep in mind as soon as you wet it, it will become curly again.

@ Oh, thank you so much! I didn’t think about how it’ll go back to its pattern if I wet it. Might just leave it like that then. 😂
