Thank you Sir, just what I needed to see to give me the confidence to remove the plate on my system. I believe the plate was held by the rings too. It's not a Roper Rhodes but same principal. Cheers.

Me too. Have two of them both stuck in place nothing apparent holding them there both on tiling I'd hate to have to replace ( retile the shower every time you need to clean your showers filters, great!). This must be the way, as someone else said thanks for giving me the confidence to get physical with them.

Guitar strings are high tensile steel wire, and the thinnest ones do a good job of cutting silicone, at least getting you most of it cut.

I guess you were a bit too busy to the habitual calmly spoken "Hi, guys". 😁 Man, I could swear that the rings were holding it. I think I would ruin it trying to remove the rings. Whoever installed this really didn't want it to fall off. Thanks for the video!

Hi there thanks for the comments. I had made a lead-in video with the usual 'Hi Guys' greeting but my blessed Adobe editing software kept on crashing and I couldn't join the 5 or 6 clips together so in shear desperation I just uploaded the bit that was most relevant for the point I was trying to get over. I've got some other videos that I want to get off my chest so I'll keep on trying. All the best . . . Andy

A guitar string is good for cutting through silicone like this as if it's a cheese wire. A 'ten' is a common top E on an electric guitar. Ten thou. edit: just saw the other message to the same effect. Great minds and all that.

Hi Marcus I have read this about WD40 but I didn't want to get it on the grouting and possibly stain it. It's so easy to fix one problem and create another but lets hope that the idea helps someone else. All the best . . . Andy
