Sir as per standon to alert give way vessel 5 short and rapid blast but its range is only 2 miles then after alerting we will be having very less time to take avoiding action.

It's minimum 2 miles. Generally can be heard at greater distances

Good day Sir, Pls advise Sir... who will be responsible incase of Sailing vessel and CBD vessel are in ROC .? Sailing vessel is not using her engines and lies to port of CBD vessel.

As per rule 18(d)(i) sailing vessel is required not to impede the safe passage of CBD vsl ? but sailing vsl is not taking action and ROC is existing.

Rule 18 is not giving right of way to sailing vessel or cbd. If sailing vessel is not taking action cbd has to take action like reducing speed etc. To clear the situation. This is as per rule 17.

sir good day, thank you so much for making these videos sir i had doubt which is -- a fishing vsl crossing from port to stbd roc exists ( that is she didnt follow 10 i ) in a tss will it still be our own responsibilty as a pdv in tss folowing the general flow to keep clear of her as per 18 if yes sir will it not be the responsibilty of the fv as per 8f2 and apply steering and sailing rule

At time of take off and landing it is to be treated as RAM. While moving over water it is to be treated as PDV.

Rule 8 f 1 applies to vessels which are directed not to impede the passage of another vessel. CBD/RAM/NUC do not fall in this category.

Call Master. Reduce speed and try to pass clear if not possible then stop and follow masters instructions.

Sir in what all condition rule 18 will apply in rule 9 and 10 . There huge confusion some book author had written 18 will apply while some says it would not. Sir it will be highly appreciated if you can clear my this doubt , what if CBD/NUC/RAM is crossing tss from port side of my vsl and ROC exist ? What all rules will apply here

In case of NUC and RAM rule 18 applies and pdv has the obligation to keep clear. In case of CBD, the obligation on pdv is lower and pdv shall not impede the passage of cbd as per rule 8f(i). If ROC exists, cbd may have to take action to keep clear depending on situation i.e give way, stand on etc.8f (ii) and (iii)

Rule 18 says except when rule 9, 10 and 13 other wise require, which means there will be specific situations when rule 9, 10 and 13 prevail, else rule 18 is applicable.
