Just wanted to say that we in the U.S. have missed out on Frankie Miller. I had never heard of him and I am pretty knowledgeable music wise. Rory was amazing and should have been a bigger star. R.I.P. Rory.

Rory had never the ambition to be a big Star. To Play his music was all he was interested. He wanted to be a blues man and there is no doubt he was one of the best.

By far the best version of this song I have ever heard. I came a bit late to the party as a Frankie Miller fan (1982’s Standing on the Edge) and even later as a Rory Gallagher fan, but what talents. Legendary masters of their craft in their own right, together a powerhouse musically and vocally. Call me a fan. “Honi soit qui mal y pense.”

I saw Rory a few times and he was electric, not just as a top player but his attitude (a lovely man), his commitment to his fans (he was always drenched with sweat after a show), and his love of what he did. A TRUE legend.

Rory Gallagher was and will remain one of the greatest legemds but to say he will blow away Stevie Ray? Music is never a matter of who is better but very few can stand up in the morning without a warm up - just past being drunk and play like SRV did.
