Hey, here a huge Nightwish fan, but a big fan of Rory Gallagher in the 1970s. Remember very well that I turned the sound so loud at Bulfrog blues that the neighbors came to complain haha. Now listening to Floor Jansen, great singer.

It’s never too late to discover Rory, he left behind a huge musical catalogue. His favourite genre was the blues but he delved into Jazz , folk, country, rock etc. and he was brilliant at them all. Thanks for covering Rory, whatever your mood Rory had something to match it.

Remember seeing Rory in one of the German Rockpalazt tv broadcast transmissions back in 77. Insane. I was 15 my later wife was 16. Those tv programs showed concerts by Gallager, Zz top , Patti Smith, Tom Petty and all other known bands from back then. Omg thosetimes were good. Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴😈😎

Thanks for another Rory reaction! Rory rocked hard and lived the blues. He expressed it in so many different ways - whether electric, acoustic or slide. This performance on the Old Grey Whistle Test was on his 28th birthday in 1976. I highly recommend checking out his take on Bo Carter's "All Around Man" from the same show, it highlights his multi-instrumentalist skills and IMHO stands among his best performances. It really is a must see! Anyway, thanks for continuing on your Rory journey and keep on...

Thank you!!! I'm so glad you liked this one. Rory passed away from an infection in his lungs, I believe, which set in after a successful liver transplant. They were getting ready to move him into a rehab unit as he was recovering when the infection set in. Such an incredible tragedy. And yes, he did drink, but his liver damage was primarily the result of a plethora of prescription drugs given to him to combat his anxiety and depression with which he suffered most of his life. At least one of the prescribed drugs was pulled off the market shortly after his death for causing irreparable liver damage. He played an amazing electric guitar, but he was also a fine acoustic player as well. For a different side, check out Secret Agent (Acoustic version at RTE Studios, Dublin) 1977 (or any of the videos from the RTE session).

What you probably don't know about Rory is ... he was a very gentle soul had time for everybody and was offered so many times places in great bands rolling stones being just one but Rory was not interested in huge fame he just did his own thing a true irish legend and a spiritual soul ... we have a statue of him here in Ireland and also festivals under his name

Yes I did hear about Rory and the Stones. I never heard of Rory until I started this channel but I think he is the best guitarist I have ever heard. I have reacted to Rory at least 7 or 8 times and every song has been fabulous. I even got a Best of Rory c.d. last year and I listen to it a lot. I wish more people would give Rory a chance and find out what a great performer he was. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it and Happy New Year.
