@makisvamvakidis I first heard Rory playing with the band "taste", and I thought "that's some weird sounding stuff". He started growing on me, and soon, I could hardly listen to anything else. Rory gets in your head and doesn't let go.

@helidoum Filmed at Middlesex Polytechnic, somewhere near London UK - 1979. Don't think its on a published DVD but sincerely wish it was. They were all on fire that night!!!! Think it maybe part of the BBC 'Rock goes to College' series but have no proof, and can offer no more help.

Deserves a lot more comments and LIKES, even Jimi Hendrix found him to be an outstanding guitarist. He should be heard a lot more often and on par with the most known blues guitarists for sure...

He had theory, but I believe he was almost out of times. He had our great blues players theories and tuning, dug up relics on the mandolin. What I love most about Rory, he never made a single to hit the billboard. He will go down in the halls with all the greats, you wouldn't believe "the Rory who's" I get. I just say; one of my favorite pickers EVER! I never felt anything ahead of his time, Hendrix was light years ahead. Only 3 years recording and a lot of magic, he poured music. Rory lived!

True, Hendrix as Rory are humble in nature. When Hendrix was alive, Rory couldn't touch him... Hendrix only made 5 albums in 3 years, that still are considered ahead of there time. Rory lived on and made wonderful albums in the 70's, to me the great one was Jimi and the one who lived to make so many greats Rory. Tough call, yes Jimi knew Rory before he was big, that speaks VOLUME of his ability and for sure there aren't many better, if any!!! I truly miss Rory, for who he was and soon his due!

that was a long time ago just like world war 2. its over now. i don't like to talk about it. its only people at the top like rulers make lower classes hate other races anyway. my best friend is from engalnd. its n the past. england is a great country nad i don't look back, i look forward by living in the present. ireland has come out of its infancy unlike alotta countires i could think of. we are way ahead of america on that regard and europe too i think when it comes to immigrants and racism.
