He's got a name and a big fan base. There's a lot he can do that doesn't involve being on a jobsite or in an office and that's pretty damn sweet

Me and him smoked weed together we both liked fighting and i was boxing in hs but i just did it for fun. Rory had a bit of a temper but Rory always has been a fighter and that often comes with the territory.

Rory is an absolute legend. His wars in the UFC have definitely taken alot out of him, but he still performs at a very high level against tough guys. Side note, Love hearing Randy Couture as a commentator. He does a great job especially in comparison to Big John in Bellator or DC in the UFC.

It's his nose man. It got so wrecked in that Robbie fight and didnt wait and it broke bad in his next fight and then again. It seems like when he gets hit it just shocks him like it didnt before. He also found religion I think and just doesnt have the same hunger he once did to demolish dudes.

@@keltar4071 I'm with you but religion tends to effect people in very different ways. Some find it and go to church weekly and talk constantly about it while some may never mention it at all. I've heard him say in interviews he finds it hard to hurt people anymore since finding religion. It was after one of his first bellator fights.

When Rory first hit the UFC he was a savage. Laser focus and killer instinct at all times. He took some beatings but always fought with every ounce of determination he had. Somewhere along the lines he lost his motivation, his aggressive fighting style (perhaps the Lawlor fight) but I think it was Tri-star with their wrestling heavy, take no damage, and win on points strategy. If you look back at GSP fights he had the killer instinct, finish fights at all costs attitude early in his career. Then he went to Tri-star and rarely ever finished a fight since. Just my thoughts. I really hope Rory gets his killer instinct back! I really enjoy watching his fights

Jesus that corner was so annoying 😂 they need to have a coach/fighter discussion because clearly that dude wasn’t fully listening to his coach, so what’s the point of him constantly yelling instruction at him? At no point do you hear Rory’s corner because rory’s fight IQ is high enough that he only needs slight instruction in tough situations. Otherwise, he knows the game plan, he knows the faints, he knows the tendencies, and he’s aware of openings and how to make them happen. Obviously, he’s more experienced, however the coach to fighter relationship needs to be worked on with those guys. He barely did any of the things his corner was telling him to. They could possibly be making it worse on him, causing him to have to think more rather than be present in the fight. I ran D1 cross country and my coach made his style very known during the recruiting process. The night before big meets he would have a talk with us about goals that we set at the beginning of the season and remind us each, individually, of workouts that we did throughout the season that we noted as an 8-9 on a 10 scale. The day of the race he was almost just a shadow to guide us with the schedule of events and timing. There were no big pep talks, no fake encouragement, and no yelling and hollering during the race. He would find a spot on the course away from spectators and other coaches, and tell you what place you were in and how many guys were in front of you from a specific team we picked out to beat or our biggest rival if we were the top ranked team. His philosophy is that he had trained us to the best of his abilities each and every day, both physically and mentally. We did a lot of meditation and visualization and that left nothing for him to say that could make an impact on our performance on the day of the event. I would imagine Firas did a lot of that with Rory over the last decade or so and now with Henry Hooft, Rory’s biggest hurdle is just getting through training camps healthy. He knows to fight and he knows how to win.
