Hasn't won a major in 8 years so clearly isn't the best, blew a 4 shot lead on the final day of the Open at St Andrews which shows that unless it's an event like The Canadian Open that nobody cares about then he can't close out another major.

Another amazing round by McIlroy. He is up for player of the year and while Scottie started the year well Rory is finishing the year on a tear. If he wins this and hopefully gets retribution at St Andrews at the Dunhill links and wins the DP Tour it would be a travesty not to award him player of the year, not just for his golf, but for his representation as a leader in both tours in the face of LIV.

Just got back from Italy. Wish I had planned it a bit better. Could have attended this one! Rory makes some shots that most of us would not even have in our thought process. Then again, his scores and mine are "REMOTELY" similar - my 9 and his 18....

Do you have a point? Apart from during Covid he has always played a dozen+ tournaments on the European tour. He averages a handful more on the PGA tour most years apart from during Covid when travel restrictions meant he played more in the US. His commitment to the European tour is admirable considering the ridiculous money on offer in America.

The Euro Tour didn't make Rory. He plays both tours because he wants to play against the best in the world on the US Tour and support the Euro Tour. He could easily abandon the Euro Tour but he chose not to.

PGA Tour isn’t in full flight. New season has just started and they’re playing the Fortinet Championship. Rory and Fitzpatrick are playing here, most likely as prep for the Ryder Cup. You know, one of the world’s premier sporting events. Or it was until the LIV series started with their awesome team component...

The point that you ladies missed was that Rory and co. are still taking up places of those trying to come up through the ranks on the DP Tour events, as was the criticism of the LIV golfers playing at Wentworth, not just this event or whether it’s for the Ryder Cup or not!

Hint: Sergio won't be in next year's Ryder Cup team. The criticism is also at players who forced a court order to play when they currently care little for the Euro tour and have even said it is doomed. Do you see the difference now or is it still too complex for you to understand?
