Honest of him to point out that it's not all raw talent but mostly hard work

As Gary Player (or Arnold Palmer, doesn't really matter) said, "the more I train, the luckier I get".
@jacktheladstevens7 жыл бұрын
We could put just as much time and effort in and would not even be anywhere near him on his worst day. Yes hard work and practice is important but you need the natural talent there in the first place.
@1b0o07 жыл бұрын
Jack, the level difference even between touring pros is enormous. McIlroy is one in a million (golf pros, that is), JJ Spaun (for example) isn't. What Rory has JJ Spaun can not train, but most of what JJ Spaun has can be trained. Of course there is natural talent, athleticism, hand eye coordination and whatnot, but we are talking about a Hall of Fame member for sure and multiple Major winner. That is definitely raw talent alongside with obsessive dedication, but you could do alright with 95% work on tour I think.

difference between being scratch and on the european tour is ridiculously big
@garrett84542 жыл бұрын
Most tour pros are +5 to +7 handicaps vs a scratch which is 0. So when they play 4 rounds the scratch player shoots around even or a couple over while the pro shoots 4 5 6 under each round. Multiply that by 4 rounds and the pro wins by 20-25 shots. Crazy

Good video. Great athlete. Good advice. Takes lots of practice. Like the Olympics

I have buddies who refuse to practice and wonder why they can't hit the ball like the pros. A couple of them even make the comment, "practice just makes me play worse". And my response is, "yeah, I'm sure Tiger says that all the time". you get out what you put in.

HD 883Nightster ...You didn't say what type of practice.....beating hundreds of balls on the range for no apparent reason is utterly useless, and will make a player worse for having done so...I consistanly shoot in the 70s, and almost never stand on the range and beat balls.

I love the first bit talking about the narrative about him being so talented. He's very talented but that was made through hardwork, grinding away on the range. People seem to believe these guys were just born pro golfers. It couldn't be further from the truth

hdzz stick with the swing changes you are working on don't change them.

Did you not listen to the video? Lol, what about the part where he discusses practising on the range? He talks about how to stay focussed even when it's boring because you're just hitting balls trying to learn a new feeling. If you ever go to a pro tour event, watch how they hit balls on the range. They don't hit, drag another ball in, then hit....they take their time, and focus on what they are doing (you could argue that because they are getting ready to play a round that is why they are focussing, but if you watch people working on something after their round then it's the same thing).

hdzz Just a bunch of fluff . I needed him to tell me WHAT to practice not just "go out and practice" and "quality over quantity"

I think Rory is trying to explain to the viewers that he is a professional golfer and employed by the pga. Inorder to stay employed, he has to show up at work - golf course and put the hours in. 😉

So his practice "secrets" are to practice? Ah.. I get it.. it's click bait, right? Well, definitely not getting a subscription and also going to down vote There are a lot of junk uploaders, but I would think people with a good amount of subscribers would realize click-bait is not a good thing
@Jakezillagfw7 жыл бұрын
Timo Canto If you listened you would know, there is no quick tip fix all. What you see is the very best, it's a little bit of natural talent but most of it if not all hard work and decades training everyday all day. There is no secret it's just what you want to put into it. "The process creates the product. "
@Jonsse7 жыл бұрын
The title could be understood as being ironic. Like "the secrets" being that you have to work your ass off, something's that not necessarily obvious to all viewers.
@kilmoturtles17 жыл бұрын
Sure. I just do not believe that is what the poster was going for ; he/she wants you to click. In any case, it is nothing new with KZbin. I hope someday a competitor comes along and really makes getting rid of click bait stuff and only using titles that explain a videos content, but YoutTube has a pretty strong grip on the video uploading community
@Jakezillagfw7 жыл бұрын
Jim Smith most if not all videos are click bait it's something that won't go away it gets views. At this point and time it's almost a necessary for makers to get views. I'm sorry but I don't see it going away any time soon.
