Am i the only one who thinks he missed so many short putts. I know he was like 150 under for the duration of the tournament but he actually missed a few 8-10 feet putts. I mean, the missed putt on the 19th hole against Cam just says it all.

Sam Burns deserved to win the WGC Match Play, but this one felt a lot more like the Championship than Burns/Young. It even finished last, just like the Championship typically does since it starts after the Consolation. It sucks that this is the last Match Play event at ACC, and we have to wait AT LEAST two years for a match play event on the PGA Tour I know the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup are match play, but that's a team event. The unique thing about this tournament is that it's bracket style and there can only be one winner. I can confidently say this has been my favorite event over the years

Unfortunate semifinal for Rory, he let it slip away at the end. A mixture of bad day on the greens and Young having the luckiest breaks with his driving. McIlroy missed the green from 50yards at 16 and then just got a bad break at 18 with his drive. Just didn't have quite the same day with the putter as the day before. Imo the best player this week overall, so good driving and approach and good putting. Sometimes it's just not going to be reflected in Match Play.

Maybe for those who still play often. I used to play quite often back in my teens. Could drive 275-280 carry. Fast forward now on my 30s, I play maybe 30 times a year and drive it 240 carry if I'm lucky with newer technology.

Don't get me wrong. These guys are on a whole other level of skill. But I'd bet a month's salary that if I had the resources for these types of equipment fittings & professional caddies, along with the immaculate course conditions, I'd average 10 strokes less per round. Their fairway rough is literally most muni fairways.
