i think it was also that rory handled that whole conversation really maturely, like by first asking if paris and jamie were safe and if jamie didn't mistreat her (things lorelai was NOT considering at rory's age), and then the whole accepting paris' apology while also holding her accountable for how she acted. if only adult rory remained this mature!

Because Lorelei is a judgemental c just like her mom. She made her mistakes, now she wants her daughter to be perfect. Of course her daughter will start acting up at some point. When the expectations are too high, kids tend to fail. She wants her daughter to be in the top 3% of her highschool, to go to Harvard and start her sex life at 30. Then she is surprised her perfect daughter makes mistakes, becomes depressed and loses focus.

I would never forgive Paris if I were Rory, no wonder nobody likes her, she’s mean, aggressive and argumentative. She had known Rory from the beginning and just because of what Francie said, she went back to being mean and aggressive to Rory all over again, and is that called “best friend”. “Best friends” trust each other no matter what people said especially that people is Francie

But Paris thinks very pessimistically about EVERYTHING, so when she thought Rory was stabbing her in the back, it was easy to believe because she is convinced everyone/everything sucks. But despite being very abrasive she is willing to say she was wrong and apologize.
