If you book direct with the hotel, they include breakfast in the price.

I had their breakfast once in December 2020, it was dreadful 🤭 Did they improve?

That price is amazing! If I ever go to Melbourne then I will try and book this hotel. Near a supermarket, the main station, and even a tram on 3 routes is phenomenal for the price, also thank you for teaching me the routes, I know nothing about Melbourne transport. I do like the idea of hotel reviews and please do more.

Thank you Rory for this excellent hotel review. I think this hotel ticks all the boxes for me, especially for the location. The cost was a surprise to me and I will definitely consider this for my next visit to Melbourne. A review of your hotel each time you visit a new location with a stopover, would be very much appreciated.

How much is it for 4 nights
@aussiejohn58353 жыл бұрын
@@MitchellBPYao the normal practice would be 4 times the daily rate and in high-rise hotels the higher floors are charged at a higher rate.
@RoryDing3 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s around $310-360

Great review, Rory! I hope more are coming soon. It’s great not only to see the journey to the destination but also the accommodation at that destination as well. In the rural destinations you visit if you’re staying overnight, that would be interesting to see the accommodation.
@RoryDing3 жыл бұрын
Yes you’ll see more coming 😊 Especially rural destinations!

I have stayed there many times since 2015 largely because it is inexpensive and easy to park being just off the motorway from the airport which joins up with the ring road and the Hume Highway going north. It would be interesting to see your preferred hotels in other cities like Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.
@RoryDing3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t really found a preferred hotel in other cities yet! But the Atlantis is definitely my favourite in Melbourne!
@blueyonder12333 жыл бұрын
Great first hotel room review. You can clearly see your travel experience. If you could keep in mind for future reviews the sound proofing of the room (noise from within & outside of the hotel, such as noise from other rooms, corridors, doors closing & traffic, transport.), adequacy of the lighting & switch placement & are laundry facilities available for travellers staying for extended periods. Look forward to many more accommodation reviews as you continue to review transport options.

Thank you for your advice. I’ll keep that in mind 😊

Love your travel reviews and excited for more hotel ones! It’s only really an ‘excellent location’ if you want to be near southern cross, coming from the skybus (airport) or regional train lines. Otherwise the docklands side of the city is a bit of a hole .. it’s the same reason there’s always plenty of cheap Airbnb’s along spencer street

Another tip for a review, if you're ever in Sydney, go stay at the Ultimo. It's a nice old building that's been renovated - I've stayed in a Queen, King and Studio (The studio was a free upgrade, which also happened to be the first time I stayed there ever). You don't have to pay until you arrive, and the beds are super comfy. It's convenient if you're travelling by train (hop off at central station and catch the light rail to either Capital Square or Paddy's Markets, and then it's about a 3-5 minute walk from either stop. Also, another place I recommend, if you're traveling around, is the Adelaide Riviera Hotel on North Terrace and Abbey on Roma in Brisbane. Both affordable and close to public transport.

Hi Rory. Sounds like really good value for the price. When I stay in Melbourne, wherever possible I book at The Savoy on Little Collins. It's a hotel that is built in the Art Deco style, and when first built, was the first hotel in Melbourne ( possibly Australia) that bathrooms and toilets in each room. Come out of Southern Cross on Spencer Street , and look right. You will see it. It is more expensive than Atlanta. But if you can get a room overlooking Spencer Street, it's worth it.

I personally like Rydges Melbourne but that’s all the way on Exhibition St. You can get the train from Southern Cross to Parliament and then you’re pretty much at the hotel. I think the price may have gone up with the NZ travel bubble opening but I got it at $109 a night. Room is massive and has a bath which is nice considering the bitterly cold weather of Melbourne.

Hi Rory. I watched this video last year when it first came out. Now next month, I am gonna stay there. I dunno if it's because of the footy finals season, but room prices have gone up a bit . I have booked 2 basic queen rooms for 3 nights, and it's just under $700. I think around $110 per room, per night.

Under $100 a night for a CBD room is amazing nowadays! I miss when Tune Hotel existed in Melbourne. Thank you for the thorough review. One thing I'd be keen to know if you do more hotel reviews is: Do they take a room deposit? If so, how soon after you check out are the funds released back to your bank account? Thanks again, this was a good, quick summary of the sort of place I'd be likely to stay in.
@djackmanson3 жыл бұрын
Also, after checking their booking site, the price does go up to the $150 a night range on weekends. Unsurprising, as they would be their busiest times, I'd guess.
@RoryDing3 жыл бұрын
Their price usually drops when the date gets closer, you just need to check regularly! And no they don’t take room deposit! They just take a photo copy of your card!
@djackmanson3 жыл бұрын
@@RoryDing Oh that's great about the deposit! I can understand them wanting the card details as some sort of security so that'd be totally fine. And yeah I browsed their booking site and their weekday rate for rooms, even two months ahead, was under $100 a night. And I was very pleased to see they listed wheelchair accessible rooms on their site - I use a mobility scooter so knowing what's available without having to call or email is great

Have stayed here a number of times - very convenient if travelling by train. However I think now if you go through booking.com you have to pay a deposit which is the cost of one night - normally used to pay the whole rate on arrival. Either way, I'm planning on staying there when I go to Melbourne in late November.

I actually had a not great experience at this hotel. Although it was close to everything, and great access to tram stops..... there was a lot lacking. I was there for a week in May 2022. I spent 7 nights, and my bathroom was not cleaned once..... I believe unacceptable in Covid times. Actually my room was not cleaned my whole stary. My room also did not have an outside window, my window faced to a hall. I was also only given 1 roll of toilet paper for my stay. I would rate this hotel 1/5
