@@RoryDuffy Believe it or not, I actually wanted to go to your in-person classes. But never made it financially. It will still be a dream for me tho =)

@@davidjiang7929 since the release of the complete video series on Vimeo pro’ I am encouraging all aspiring tailors to follow the video series first before coming in-house to focus on their area of weakness. For beginners this might seem like everything, but you’ll get more out of the in person training if you gain a little experience from the videos first.

You are so gentle and respectful with the handling of the material. It’s fascinating to watch you at work. Do you ever get impatient?

Rory after watching many of your earlier videos I was inspired to create a jacket for myself, I bothered to pad stitch the collar etc took my time and it came out well But! Watching you steam press your seams and darts etc I have to ask how come you do it without a press cloth? I mean how do you not get that shining on the other side??
@RoryDuffy2 жыл бұрын
I do use a press cloth, I just limit it use in these series because it blocks the view for the audience. Control the heat of the iron and it won’t sheen as much

Oh Mr Duffy. Great respect. You must laugh at we amateur sewers struggling with our Vogue patterns. I watch in awe every time you post a new video. It takes me weeks to pluck up the courage to cut into my fabric, watching you, I now realised why. It’s the difference between knowing what your doing, or NOT knowing what your doing! Perhaps it’s time to search for my knitting needles. Sigh 😔

I released this series in full as a ‘how to’ video series on Vimeo Pro to help amateurs such as yourself.You can throw away the vogue patterns and follow along with my drafting video to create one of your own vimeo.com/ondemand/thehta

I am going to take all these pointers and start my own line of horrifically bad (your tips are probably excellent, but I know almost nothing about tailoring), staggeringly cheap, bespoke suits for the masses. I will call them: McRocket Bespoke Suits. Bespoke Suits for the Cheapskate in all of us. And if they do well...I'll give you a cut. 😉 Seriously - really enjoy your vids.
