@@Qlicky From my Point of view as an LFC fan it’s an admiration of a young player smashing it and in any other season without Salah he’d be getting all the plaudits. But also I’d love him at LFC (never gonna happen) but my god, in terms of forward planning, he’d smash it in this LFC squad and get to learn from the master in Salah.

@@msdprojekt As an Arsenal fan, that's nice to hear from a Liverpool fan. Too bad you don't hear much sensible stuff from rival fans nowadays. It's just brainless banter. Saka is not even in his prime and yet so many people belittle him and compare him to one of the best players PL has ever seen. A one that is nearing the end of his career too. Or at least should be, but it doesn't look like it at all. I just had a quick check. When Salah was Saka's age (a little older actually) he had 20 G/A in Serie A from 32 games. Saka has 15 G/A from 16 games in the PL. It's a bit disengenious to compare players who are 9 seasons apart when it comes to experience.

Definitely a major reason for his newfound output this season. He can always make it work as he’s shown before but now he’s getting so many opportunities that even when he misses 2-3 big chances, he still almost always gets 1 goal or assist. It’s exciting to see as a LFC fan!
@imRehnzy2 күн бұрын
Thank you. People don't seem to realize this. When things go bad, Salah is washed, when things go great, Salah is the next ballon d'or winner. Should he be? Yeah probably. But Gravenberch has been running the premier league midfield this year. Out of nowhere. And very discretely. He doesn't score, he doesn't assist. But every game is ran by him. And i respect Slot for not calling Salah the best player in the world, but just saying he's up there. Because what enables Salah goes so unnoticed.
@bigman87332 күн бұрын
@ think that’s slightly a stretch cause when he had poor midfielders or hit or miss midfielders in the past (especially his first season) he still always gets 20+ goals a season all comps or 17+ a season in the prem which no other LFC player in his time at the club has done
@imRehnzy2 күн бұрын
@@bigman8733 It does help that he's a great penalty taker to pad those stats. Most teams get at least 10 of them every year surely. That's 10 goals you can cover up a bad season with pretty well if you're great at slotting them home. Dont get me wrong, I agree, the consistency is probably the best ever and it's a serious debate whos the best player ever in the prem now. Henry or Salah both feel like respectable answers. But right now. The reason Salah looks so good right now is heavily because of the midfield behind him. Let's not lie here. Mo also wasted a lot of chances so far this year. He could've had double these numbers. This year is really abnormal, he's being enabled at a whole new level. I'm sure Slot also plays a big role in that. Maybe Slot can get more out of Salah than Jurgen could

I am old enough and lucky enough to have watched all of the great Liverpool teams since my first game at Anfield. 1977 European Super Cup Final 2nd leg Liverpool v SV Hamburg, I was 10 years old watching from the old Boys Pen as we demolished Kevin Keegan's Hamburg. You simply cannot compare modern day teams to those 1970's/80's teams, the gulf in the approach to looking after themselves as athletes is enormous and then there is the issue with the farmers fields they had to play football on back then. What I will say is this is one of the most complete and the most balanced teams I have ever seen play at Anfield! The thing I find incredibly exciting is there is still a lot of room for improvement! When you think we are only half a season into Arne Slot as Liverpool manager, the level of performance being consistently produced week in week out and as I say the fact there is still a lot of room for improvement, hopefully we are witnessing the birth of another period of Liverpool dominance just like we seen when the quiet and unassuming Bob Paisley created when he won 6 league titles, 3 European Cups, 1 UEFA Cup, 1 European Super Cup and 3 league cups in 9 seasons! It is early days yet but the job Arne Slot is doing in his first season, without spending hundreds of millions bringing in world class players is nothing short of remarkable!

He has focused his, Mo's, energy into the attacking areas of the pitch and by doing so doesn't spend too much energy in the defensive area. Asa a liverpool fan we just have to keep taking it game by game. Focus on ourselves and continuing to get results. Aside from that we need to resign VVD, Salah and Trent

The transition of Klopp to Slot might turn out to be the modern Shankly to Paisley.

West Ham have lost at home to Manchester City, Chelsea & Arsenal. However, today was West Ham’s biggest defeat of the season & I think it will remain that way. Their second biggest defeat was also to Liverpool (albeit in the EFL Cup). It’s exciting times but I won’t pay attention to the noise. I’ll celebrate if & when Van Dijk becomes the first Dutch player to win a title as captain for Liverpool.

Arne Slot - to take over from Klopp with no summer signings, 14 clear of Man City, 9 clear at the top after 19 games is some going. He's been brilliant. Liverpool deserve the title now.

It's annoying how everyone wrote us off before season kicks off up until they constructed they played nobody yet narrative, Saka better than Salah, and all sorts of disrespectful lines against my beloved great club, only to put arsenal ahead us only from 2 seasons of being city best man..
@MrLennyt32 күн бұрын
Every club is subject to media narratives dude. Arsenal certainly gets their share, all you can do is prove them wrong, which your club is currently doing. Try to let go of the annoyance enjoy it, and enjoy your show - it should be fun to be a Liverpool fan right now.

It's ours to lose, the table says that. But, we were up for all four this time last year too. We'll see what happens when the final whistle goes at the end of the season.

The difference was that then City existed. This season no one even will get 80 points
@eoghancummins57682 күн бұрын
@@robhans5 there's 60 points left to play for. Liverpool can drop 15 points from now and still get to 90 points
@MrLennyt32 күн бұрын
Liverpool is the only team that has won the league by running away with it in recent years. If anyone is doing it, it's you. You also have an unreal line-up of attackers. You are winning it unless something catastrophic and unexpected happens.

Luis Diaz is not even a starter in every game. Slot starts him every other game but he does so well when selected.
@timmy58762 күн бұрын
West ham really had no idea what to do, if they gave us space in midfield we’d just pass it about waiting for the space to open up or someone to make a mistake and if they went to press then one of our forwards or curtis in the 10 would make that run inbetween the midfield and defence to get on the ball then alarm bells went off. They tried doing both and both resulted in us scoring it was amazing to watch. Tactically it’s so so interesting watching us play, one thing i noticed was trent was being man marked at one point in the first half so he simple came into midfield then gravenberch went out to fullback and we had infinite space down the right so we had a 2v1 always, then they stopped man marking trent and he had even more time on the ball to play
