Spiderbait- Buy Me a Pony is a great song, and listening to it, you can see the lineage of how they got to this version of Black Betty. Australia’s pub music scene led to some amazing bands. For every AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel and INXS that the world knows, there’s 100’s of bands equally as good that the world never will.

Hi!! This is a very old working song, first recorded in 1933 by James "Iron head" Baker and then by Leadbelly in 1939, Ram Jam covered it as well as Tom Jones ...Some songs have no age and evolve over time 🔥😊

@@lepetitoiseau I didn't know that Ram were not the original artist either way they become the song like it was theirs. There are songs that became more successful than the original ones look the song without you everyone thinks that Harry Nilsson was the original artist but the original performers were the band Badfinger which two of their members had a very tragic fate and they never earn the millionaire royalties for this masterpiece they created...
