She was actually born in New Zealand & moved to Australia when she was 8yrs old and lived in Oz for 8yrs before moving to Korea to train, so she’s definitely fluent in English.

I think its jarring for Americans to hear asians speak in another accent other than an american accent from where they're from. Since I'm asian aussie and around asian aussies all the time its normal for me, but whenever i hear an asian person speak in a british accent its really surprising since i don't hear it a lot.

LooYee I was thinking the same. I grew up Asian in Canada, but when I went to the UK and met relatives there I was like... wtf British accents 😮 Obviously I should have anticipated the accents but I was still surprised - its stupid isn't it? 😂
