I knew Rosa. She died at home and had nurses taking care of her as well as Elayne Duke. She was in a nursing home for some rehabilitation for a very brief time. You most likely were at the nursing home during that time.

Anche nel 53 la Ponselle avrebbe potuto fare tabula rasa di tutte le altre... Molto probabilmente non si esercitav a molto negli anni50! E quindi stupisce ancora di più questa registrazione! Questa testimonianza la dice lunga sul come la signora fosse stata baciata da Dio o dalla fortuna del Dono di una delle più belle voci del 900

La prononciation donne des interactions ferraillantes mais le style est parfait et la voix homogène, absolument tenue. Un exemple qui ne se retrouve plus dans nombre de chanteuses actuelles qui branlent du manche dès la trentaine et ne se résignent pas à faire leurs adieux à 50 ans, quand elles auraient déjà dû les faire à 20....En entendant cette qualité irréprochable de chant à 53 ans, vous comprenez mon énervement.

I vecchi dicono sempre che quelli prima erano meglio...la Riccardi..se fosse stata una Diva l'avrebbe conosciuta il mondo intero invece la nomini solo tu e niun la conosce. Caruso aveva tanti conoscenti...Per la Stignani la vera Norma era la Cigna e non la Callas...a conferma del fenomeno che i vecchi sono migliori...

​@@bodilotola Ponselle non ha mica cantato il repertorio della Callas: Nabucco, Macbeth, Armida, Lucia, Sonnambula, Puritani ecc. La Callas aveva una coloratura che la Ponselle non aveva. D'altra parte Callas scuriva e spingeva troppo, questo ha creato una voce incontrollata, che poteva avere più colori, anche se comunque ne aveva tanti. Su questo la Ponselle è migliore. Ma la Callas è l'ultimo soprano assoluto. Probabilmente le assolute del 1800 Pasta, Malibran, Viardot ecc erano migliori a livello tecnico. A livello di fraseggio e interpretazione non sappiamo. Ma stia sicuro che la Callas è la più grande interprete del 1900 (parlo a livello teatrale, interpretativo). Poi i trilli della Callas sono di tutt'altro livello rispetto a Ponselle. Tuttavia, non dobbiamo dimenticare che la ragione principale (non l'unica) della Callas era la sua salute fisica e mentale. Altre cause, il cantare troppo e fare sovracuti in fortissimo non scritti

@@giovic9802 Adoro più di 40 Soprani che appartenevano al passato glorioso, l’ultima era Ghena . Chi era la migliore tra di loro mi interessa poco. Parlando della Maria Callas… La Callas ha rivoluzionata la lirica, è un fatto. Parlando a livello teatrale … Per esempio quando La Callas sta interpretando Vissi d’arte mi fa pensare a uno soprano drammatico /una vocalità di 4 ottavi…/ che personalmente conobbi degli anni 1958 interpretando durante i suoi concerti la stessa aria faceva piangere quasi tutti, piangevo anch’io… La Callas interpretando Vissi d’arte la trovo meno emozionante e con una voce meno bella. Rispetto la sua opinione ma vivo ancora con i miei cari ricordi degli anni 1958… Saluti il vecchio PS La Ponselle , La Callas, La Tebaldi e compagnia erano bellissime come tre fiori diversi che hanno il proprio profumo, chi era il fiore più bello? Nessuna importanza visto il tempo invernale che regna da anni sul mondo della lirica moderna. Ciao

Valeria D'ultra Merilyn Horn dal vivo aveva la voce poco bella del soprano corto . La Ponselle era un soprano drammatico con una voce divina,era un fenomeno vocale . negli anni 60 La Riccardi diceva : - Tre Callas non valevano una Rosa Ponselle .

Horne não tem esta profundidade natural nos baixos nem de longe... São completamente construídos na base de harmónicos nasais horríveis. Ponselle mesmo não tendo um timbre propriamente bonito, tem uma voz veludada e profunda totalmente natural
