Maybe the strongest female voice in rock history. Listen to songs like "What do you do now ?" or "Wild Child". Epic.

Annisette is, singing this song 76 years old. please listen to The Savage Rose earlier. They have been around since 68. again she is 76! and still better than A LOT of voices.

Another Dane here. Annissette is the best. If you like this, take a listen to her other music such as “I lost a girl I knew “, “Wild child”

If you think she gives you a Tina Turner vibe, you should give “River Deep, Mountains High” with “Annisette & the Dandy Swingers” a listen. It’s one of her very first recordings being around 16-17 years old. One of, if not THE, biggest voice of any danish singers ever. True gold. 🙏🏼❤️

Annisette was probably a couple of years older when she recorded ' River Deep, Mountain High', i.e. 19-20 years old. The single was released as a double A side with a fantastic version of 'Stay With me Baby'. She had previously released a few songs in Danish ' Livet er nu', 'Syng for mig mor' to name a few. Of course the biggest and most charismatic voice in Denmark but also one of the great voices worldwide. Annisette and The Savage Rose received rave reviews from Lester Bangs, Ed Ward andf Davidd Fricke of Rolling Stone.

thank you for your analysis of Masters of war with Annisette. I am Danish and would like to give you some background regarding Annisette, she is about 70 now. but she and her band were offered a contract with a major American record company approx. 1969 but said no for political reasons the four drew to play for free for poor children in South America so that cause means something to her. she is the same generation as Jannis Juplin and I consider her the Danish version of her. you can find her under her name or as savege rose. there is a lot of fantastic music with her on the net. The orchestra she plays with on the recording you chose is the Danish national TV's big band, which is very professional. hope you can use this information. ps she is for me the best Danish singer ever

thank you for the intresting ride today this is a really good Bob Dylan song and I really like her style it is very Tina Turner like in the sound I agree with you but she has a very unique way of singing kind of jazzy /blusey and something else I am not sure what it is but there is something else there as well anyways thanks for the ride and as always your ride or die forever EyyyyOoooo

Wow, what a surprise. YT led me here cos of Ren and then I see one of my childhood heroines out of the blue. This may be good, but her voice is a shadow of its former self. There isn’t a whole lot on YT it seems, but most of her music is on Spotify. I grew up with her versions of Bella Ciao and El pueblo unido (partly in Danish) and still haven’t heard many better. Favorites in English are also Where Have All the Flowers Gone, You’ll Know in the Morning and What Do You Do Now (Black Angel versions in particular). All done as The Savage Rose = the family band.

Annisette is still a great musician though her voice of cause is marked by age. Listen to her with Savage Rose back in the 60's - just amazing (and she still is)! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYCnmK1srb59j9U

I have seen some of your analyzes and videos and like them, but would like to contribute a little background about Annisette. she and her band were offered a contract in the USA at the end of the 60s but they said no thanks because they didn't like the USA's politics in, among other things. Vietnam and proclaimed that they would rather play for free for the poor children of middle America. that's why her version of Bob Dylan is so strong she feels about that song and what it means. you can look at some of her earlier and original songs written by her husband for her (savege rose) etc.

Very unique. I like the way she sang it. Seemed like a little tiny bit of janice Joplin there as well.

Simply Love the Koppel family. They are all so talented ♥️ This is, sadly, a Repeating Call for peace, latest shown to me by Dimash in The Story of One Sky. Loved your reactions to both 👍🥰 War never contributes to any good 🙏🏻

Annisette has a really powerful voice, which you don’t really get to hear in this song. Please listen to some of her older songs like “Wild Child” and “Stewball was so tired” to hear the full power and range of her wonderful and unique voice.

Absolutely no doubt that The Koppels are world class musicicans and composers. Yet, The Savage Raose has never been too "fine" to do copy numbers. Where have all the flowers gone - not to member the album with worker's songs from around the world: Ild og Frihed. Have a listen to Lever Palæstina...... and feel it!

A shame she did not fold out her potential. Anisette has a really wide spand with amazing high notes.

I think Annisette has completely lived up to her full potential - at least artistically. She has always been true to herself and her ideals which is all you ask for from an atist.

@@Antaur666 I respect your opinion although I may disagree :). Not that it matters but this is is obviously not the only song I have heard. I have the full collection of vinyl and CD releases incl. some unreleased stuff like the complete sound track to 'Bella Vita' and a live recording of a concert in Haderslev from 2002. I have seen them live many times. I have met Annisette and Thomas a couple of times and they invited me to LA for the launch party of 'For Your Love' in 2001. I was credited on the album 'For Your Love'
