The live performance from Eurovision 2021 for this is on another level, so much better than official video.

Beautiful vocals. And powerful lyrics, which have even more power when sung by the young Emma Kok, who is living these lyrics as though they were written about her.

As someone who follows Barbara since almost her beginning, I just wanted to tell you that "Voilà" is a song that is part of a "triptych song". "Voilà" is the first one ; "Le jour se lève" is the second one ; "L'homme et l'oiseau" is the third and last one forming one story named "Voilà, le jour se lève sur l'homme et l'oiseau" You should really listen to those 2 other songs because it put the story together (on Barbara Pravi's YTB channel, she has a video of all the songs and MV put together to great that story). But you're right about what you felt for that song and the meaning behind it. Love from France 🇫🇷 ❤

Oh, thank you for such a reaction! This is a very deep understanding of Barbara's song. And a high appreciation of her skill. This song and this singer are real art. I'm from Russia, and I didn't understand a word, but the singer's vocals and emotions tore me to the very depths of my soul. The power of an authentic artist

I have to admit the first time I heard this like many other people I think was with Emma Kok singing. Both artists give me a slightly different vibe when singing it, both are wonderful in their own way.

What strikes me is the big difference between Anglo-Saxon songs and French songs. One is based on rhythm and music while the other, like the troubadours of the Middle Ages, is based on poetry or a story embellished by music. There are of course exceptions on both sides, when I hear certain songs by Leonard Cohen like "the partisans" which he sings in French and English, we see the link.

There is indeed a story behind this song. Barbara was in a abusive relationship since she was with a man who mistreated her. This song was her way of ending it and moving on.

Bonjour Rosalie ! I find your reaction very beautiful and moving to a song that is too! Allow me to advise you to also listen to "Jacques Brel" who is a Belgian singer (like Lara Fabian) and actor who died in 1978. And more particularly his song: "Ne me quitte pas" live which means "Don't leave me". It's very beautiful, poetic and full of emotions! Keep it up !

I can write in english if you cannot translate.
