Do you mean the quarter note rest that does not have a bracket with a 3? The time signature is 4-4 so only those beats with bracket-3 need to have 3 eigth notes.

Hey great playing! Thanks for the song. Just a tip: there are two ways of notating a shuffle in a more practical way: you either wrote it in 12/8 (harder to read for me) or you put the indication "8th equals triplet 8th" (of course in score writing) at the beginning :)

Yes. True. Considering that the bass plays lock with the kick, I thought like a drummer. This way it is much easier for me to decode the rhythm and follow the groove. It seems the most logical way to me. In the end, however, what matters is the execution, regardless of how the score is written :-D Keep on groovin' :-D
