This one, she has to really focus and concentrate. Not only is this HELLA difficult for a drummer to play, but it shifts both tempo and pattern several times throughout the song. In the 90s I was a touring bandleader for a couple of different solo artists, and hence I auditioned a LOT of drummers (I'm no drummer, by the way). This was always the tune I asked for first... which saved me a LOT of time. Many many (otherwise very good) drummers just cannot get this groove down. Hence this performance is just astonishing.

Agreed! She is definitely blessed which is bringing joy to people, while the other two comments directed to you, are challenging for sadness. Annnnnnd here comes their moronic rhetoric - WHICH, we'll all ignore. Go ahead, I'm not waiting...............

I've seen this cover dozens of times and every time I see it, I'm just as amazed as the first time I saw it. It actually really opened up my eyes to how technical Toto was.
@handicapitation32504 жыл бұрын
@Pat McCann yeah, but you don't have to like the music to appreciate the talent. I went down a Toto rabbit hole after seeing this cover, and like you, the music isn't for me. I think I found 1 song that I added to my playlist. Check out the song "falling in between". Sounds kinda like Dream Theater. Most of their songs have cheesy lyrics and that's what turns me away.

Right?!! Even watching her foot tippy-toe to hit the kick pedal brings a smile.
What makes this girl's style so unique is her use of the double-bass pedal... like she's learned the rudiments on her FEET... the drag... the flamicue... the pedi-diddles! :) I can say one thing, she will be or already is an incredible soccer (fútbol) player!

Had to re-visit this one. Simply rips the P shuffle, and naps the fills. If you close your eyes you'd swear the the man himself was behind the kit. Well done, young lady. You truly are a prodigious talent!

Great, Great, and Great again. I saw her covers when she was 7/8 years old, Ian Piace, John Bonham, Carmine Appice, I have just only a word: WOW
She's literally a treasure, the stamina of keeping such a wild beat consistent and TIGHT, it's actually insane to watch as a drummer, I've been playing around since she was born and if we're not at the same tier, she's probably better!

Just frigging wow!!!. Gifted and natural. She doesn't really need to concentrate. It's just flows. Fantastic timing for so young.

So I'm soon to be 39, and I've never been able to play a shuffle like this. Because of this video, I looked up Porcaro's tutorial, which lead me to a tutorial on "fool in the rain" from Bonham. I took some time to figure that one out, and now I'm progressing to Rosanna, and it feels great to finally learn something that's always been a brick wall to me. All thanks to YOYOKA! xD

My life isn't exactly a garden of roses at present; in fact it's more a sea of shit; but one thing that helps me keep my head above the waves is watching Yoyoka. I just can't imagine what horribly depressing lives the people who give her thumbs down must be living; I think their souls may be irrecoverable.

I'm a professional Keyboarder since 35 years and was working with a lot of brilliant, genius and legendary drummers. All of them confirmed what you said!
For many years I have been telling people how astoundingly difficult Jeff Porcaro's---then a well-known top-tier session man and musician's musician---work on "Roseanna" was. This lets everyone see it. Kudos to Yoyoka for having the extraterrestrial talent and awareness to pull it off with very little hitch.
