Here’s my food fail: for my mum’s birthday I decided to make a surprise cake (with Ro’s helpful tutorial of course 😁) filled with maltesers. In the end it was a success BUT after I made the first 2 cakes, I needed a third for the top so I had to make just one more. 1st attempt, I put in too much baking powder from being on autopilot for the first 2 cakes so the entire thing sunk. 2nd attempt I dropped it and it went EVERYWHERE 😭 so third times a charm! At least my food fail had a happy ending 😁

Hey, Ro. With that drink dispenser video, I've had this happen. Some glass dispensers are made that can't handle boiling water and will easily crack. I make southern style sweet tea every summer. I made it right in a dispenser my cousin got me, and it took us until the tea had flooded the counter to realize it had cracked and was leaking. Since, I make a sweet tea syrup (sun tea style) in a giant pickle jar, let it cool, then add cold water to the syrup.

fun fact, at 10:48, when Ro is saying she doesnt know how she would clean the melted plastic off the element. i know how to do it, based off of experience :( those elements are detachable, so just pluck it out and put it in the freezer. once hard again. it should come right off

I have a few food fails that stick out in my mind: 1. I mixed up granulated sugar with powdered sugar when baking cookies (turned out cakey but fine) 2. I was baking red velvet cupcakes and overfilled the pan and the batter spilled all over the inside of the oven (this was in a college dorm kitchen too) 3. I was baking either muffins or cupcakes and stupidly reached to take out the pan with my BARE HANDS! Instantly dropped the pan onto the open oven door, broke the glass on the door and ruined my creations. :( 4. Just a few days ago made a cheesy pasta dinner, put it onto a paper plate rather than into a bowl or on a ceramic plate (still have no idea why) and just made it to the counter where half the pasta spilled over the edge and onto the counter. Saved my dinner somehow but man I think I misplaced my brain that day.

Omfg the second one just blows my mind every time it happens. I've worked in two restaurants now that have used the wooden coins for amuse bouches, and we get feedback from servers constantly (or throw away broken one) that someone tried to bite it. Every time I drop one at a table I have to make a joke about, "served on a wooden spoon, please do not eat that."
