Wonderful to hear from Roscoe today; one of the most enjoyable ( to watch ) and talented players of an area, the 70's, which had lost of legends, genuine personnalitys... Roscoe belongs to the very elite exclusive club of the legendary tennis players.

I remember watching his 1979 Wimbledon final against Bjorn Borg, which was a 5 set classic. He was unlucky not to win against Borg, who won the 4th of his 5 titles. I read that he'd had a few issues in his life. Hope he's now doing OK.

Always good to hear from the voice of experience and expertise. Still the most biomechanically efficient serve of all time - by a mile - as Vic Braden used to point out.

Tennis in the 70s and 80s was HUGH - full of international players - talented, fun and largely of good character - Conners could be peppery, Nastase a court jester, McEnroe cringe-worthy, Borg a matinee idol. Roscoe was always someone I enjoyed watching - strong, good looking guy, solid game, booming serve. Overall, great comportment and a wonderful ambassador - a key player during the most exciting era of the game. Well Done, Roscoe !!!

If Roscoe had today’s rackets, his serve would have been even faster, faster than the today’s players.

His was timed at 153 miles per hour with the head metal racket he used.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3fWY6WiobOpidU Tanners career spanned the years other famous tennis greats: John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Brian Gottfried, Vitus Gerulaitis, Arthur Ashe, Ross Case, Stan Smith, Raul Ramirez, Ilie Nastase, Rod Laver, John Newcombe, Gillermo Vilas, and more -- and when practically my friends played tennis, ski friends in the off season. My tennis friends heard a few of these all time great players. Part 2 shows the group lesson on Center Court at the Courtside Club in Los Gatos, CA. There's something for every rec player to benefit from.

And more like Björn Borg maybe...?

PDP was ok but I think the Rossignol F200 was a better racket 🤷♂

0:00 So, the great football star, OJ, is a throat slitter evading court papers to keep from paying his deceased victim's families. And the "great" power hitter Roscoe is still evading his obligation to appear in Dade County Georgia Superior Court as ordered by Judge Brian House, yet he is treated like a current "star" instead of what he actually is, a fugitive from justice. The joint civil / criminal Contempt warrant has a bond preset at just north of $750,000.00. So Roscoe refuses to give his side of the story to the judge, and he's treated like a hero, instead of with the contempt that both OJ and Roscoe deserve. Both of you: Accept service of the court documents instead of evading service, appear in court as ordered, and explain to the judge why you ought not to be held to the same standard as every other celebrity, including Donald Trump. Trump appears in court as ordered, and accepts service of warrants. Why won't Roscoe do the same?

Just what we need, another racket company with a new snake oil recipe that is going to go belly up in no time... Do those rackets really exist ?!

Legend, don't remember hearing him before, seems like a good guy.

Unfortunately, he's not a great guy. He has been in trouble with the law, has had financial problems and has conned people out of money. It is quite sad, actually.

@@brianv5677 I can corroborate these comments. Not a decent human by any stretch of the imagination
