Roblox Scripting Tutorial: How to Script a Group Ranking Bot

EDIT ON JULY 25th 2022: The rank bot is still working! Glitch has updated its website so a few modifications are required. When creating the project, select "glitch-hello-node" since "hello-express" is no longer an option. Additionally, the express npm package is no longer included in the glitch preset. To add the required packages, open the package.json file and replace its contents with the code found here: pastebin.com/raw/ziZKui3x. I plan to release a new video soon containing a visual demonstration of these steps, but in the meantime, these changes will allow your project to function correctly. Hey! I totally understand your concern and I’m so glad you’re keeping security in mind when doing things like this. I just wanted to make it clear that this is perfectly safe to setup for your group. You are the only person that has access to the glitch project. I have no way of retrieving the cookie. PLEASE, remember to make your project private (on Glitch) by going up to where he originally renamed it, and finding the option "Make This Project Private", otherwise, somebody could get access to your roblosecurity key and have complete access to your bot! (Pin this if you would.)

I know another ranking service called Vibez Development, which has an easy setup ranking service. You can even have commands such as fire, which demotes the person to the first rank in the group (e.g. Customer, Hotel Guest, etc), promote, which ranks the user 1 rank up. Setrank lets you set the users rank id to (e.g. /prefix/ setrank /roblox username/ /rank id (0/255)/. Then you have demote, which demotes the user one rank down. I wouldn’t recommend this video (if you want to), Pops ranking, salami ranking, etc. Like I said, Vibez is a free ranking service that costs you nothing but a fortune. I would recommend Vibez Development if I were you. Oh and, by the way, I’m not the founder of Vibez. I even have a video myself on how to add the bot for v6, I do not have a version for v7, which is open source, meaning people can use somebody’s creation.

To anyone confused on windows, when you press inspect... 1. Go to the top where it has some options and less the “>>”, you should be able to find application from there. 2. After you press application, you’ll find yourself at manifest. 3.Scroll down a little to see the word “Cookies” 4. Press the “>” To the left of the word “cookies” 5. When it goes to “v” click the link underneath “cookies” And you will find yourself at the name page! Happy programming!

STILL WORKS IN 2023, for anyone else out there like me that initially doubted it! You just have to listen VERY carefully to the part where he starts walking you through the JavaScript portion on Glitch, cross-compare his instructions with the pinned comment down here, and then piece it all together like a puzzle. This is agreeably hard for a newer programmer to grasp, but it isn't impossible to make it work.

This won't always work. You will have to wake up the project for the bot to come online unless you pay for it.

You could use 2 windows for both accounts instead of logging out and back in btw.

You have to put the cookie in .env file so it’s more secure or else people can just get into the bot source, copy paste and they will get access to your account

It's best practice to put your Token(The url you're not meant to share) in the .env file. typically environment files are used to store tokens/keys that aren't meant to be shared publically. just a future tip i guess.
